This last election I voted Dem. Not because I thought she was worth a shit, but she was imo the better of the two options. Political party doesn’t mean shit to me.

I’ve been reading political novels since about 6th Grade.

There’s never been a fictional US President as bad as the reality of Trump. And I include Lex Luthor from the Superman comics.

Man, I wish we could elect Lex. He was a full-on criminal, but he took care of what was his. I would disagree with his stance on aliens, but I bet he would give us healthcare on a whim.

Even Nixon’s head as President of Earth ran a weirdly benign and relatively competent administration as President of Earth. Yes, because Futurama is a comedy, but with all of these fictional Presidents, I think many Americans have (or hopefully had) little concept of just how much of our stability and prosperity actually was due to the government. Fictional accounts of how badly a President can fuck the U.S. just wouldn’t’ve landed as plausible with a general audience.

Hannibal preferred intimate one-on-one murders. I doubt he would kill more than 100 people while in office.

More US citizens died to COVID than all wars, and Trump told people not to wear masks or quarantine. That alone got him on the death toll leaderboard.

My uncle and cousin died after catching COVID at a superspreader event shortly after his speech. I bet Hannibal Lecter would never have even come close to killing my personal relatives.

The claim that people would like him if he was not a republican is one of the stupider pieces of cope they’ve come up with. They also like to use the stupid “TDS“ thing to claim that people just hate Trump arbitrarily, as if we can’t list 50 different horrible things he’s done and things about him that make him completely unfit for the office.

It’s not just cope. It’s that these people are so surrealistically stupid and lack all sense of curiosity that many legitimately don’t know a fucking thing about the guy they voted to be the most powerful figure on the planet. So they think we must be acting unreasonable to hate him so much.

I mean a common phrase among them leading up to 2016 was “he’ll run it like a business” because they were entirely unaware that the dipshit has driven every business venture he’s ever attempted into the ground except for real estate because a monkey could be successful at real estate if it inherits a bunch of its daddy’s money and real estate.

They don’t even know who he is.

I’ve said for a long time that the primary means of American education is advertising. He was advertised as a competent businessman on TV, and so that’s what a lot of Americans believe. The guy’s a walking advertisement. A flim-flam man.

He wins because he’s the best at lying in a country that prizes lying for money as the best skill set one can possess.

The claim that people would like him if he was not a republican is one of the stupider pieces of cope they’ve come up with.

From their perspective, it makes sense. They hate Democrats because they’re Democrats. And if one of them switches sides to become a Republican, they’ll suddenly find excuses for them, forgive everything they’ve ever done, and support them no matter what.

They’re so baked in tribalism that they can’t understand disliking a politician for any other reason. So they think of course things would be reversed if he was part of the other tribe. They, of course, would instantly hate him if he became a Democrat.

If anything, Biden Derangement Syndrome was absolutely a thing. MAGAts were so incredibly panicked about Biden when he was an entirely milquetoast, middle-of-the road Democrat. Do even they argue that Trump is just another Republican? I can’t see how anyone could.

They act that way any time a Democrat is president. They’re terrified the Dem will do a good job and leave a good legacy and positive reputation, so they pretty much flip out. They did it over Clinton - spread and amplified all sorts of rumors then investigated him for years until they finally found something to impeach him for. And then, Obama, obviously. Trump himself is still freaking the fuck out about Obama and it’s been a decade since he was in office.

Did you know! Around 80% of the wildlife is endemic to Australia, meaning it can only be found here! According to the Australian Wildlife Conservancy, 87% of mammals, 93% of reptiles, 94% of frogs, and 45% of birds in Australia ONLY exist in Australia.

From iconic kangaroos and koalas, to elusive echidnas and wombats, you can see some of the world’s most unique wildlife Down Under. Australia is also home to the only mammals that lay eggs: the platypus and the echidna.

Don’t be a partisan hack. Politics isn’t rooting for a sport team, nor a rock concert. Don’t follow a leader because they are charismatic or likeable. Instead, support policies that reflect your values. Do not follow a person. If someone presents a policy that you support, or multiple policies that you support, embrace the policy for being great. Not the person. People are not superheroes.
