You have to eat nuts pretty slowly for this to be a problem in my experience. I have had nuts go rancid but they were really old. It’s like sauces - they say “keep refrigerated” on the bottle but if you use them consistently it’s better not to crowd the fridge/keep space for higher priority things.

If you find a deal for some that can easily happen. I fucking love nuts but it’s easy to get tired of them after eating one kind every day for a while, it’s a good idea to put them in the freezer until you get a craving again.

Cold slows many chemical reactions, including this one. Nuts will last even longer in the freezer.

Removing them from an oxygen environment will also slow the reaction.

In my region cans cost significantly more than plastic (ability to recycle costs premium I guess), so I usually buy couple of cans for guests and one big plastic bottle for regular use.

Okay but I have more questions.

Why are they storing all those in the fridge? They could have 2 of them in there and the other cokes outside, that would be much more space efficient. There would be much more space for things other than cokes.
