Canada@lemmy.ca•Opinion: Dictators are pleased to watch Canada and the U.S. slug it out
0·1 day agoOh Yeah that are valid points. Shifting the Canadian economy out of the American tentacles will be hard and the easiest path forward is, sadly, the Chinese and it will be hard at first on our collective wallets, hopefully it’ll gets better but I doubt it
Now all this point are already known, why an ex-ambassador and specialist on the question (since is writing for a think thank) doesn’t have more insight, something more crunchy to say ? This is here that I feel there’s something afoot

0·1 day agoI’m doing my first Frasier watch. I’m at s09 and so far it’s pretty great, that’s one sitcom not done to be binge watch but I can’t stop it. Niles, god I love Niles (and Eddie because I’m a dog person), the actor is so great. There’s one episode where he burn his shirt/pants ironing them that is 👌

I’ll take a break maybe I’ll want to go back to it in the futur … after all I’ve set-up and AudioBookshelf just for it 😅

0·1 day agoThat’s ok.
The red neck goblin in the first book are a fucking awful meme/joke. The books are made for an « in group » like BBT was that’s where I came with the comparaison
I feel that the writing is circular (and so far) the 3 books are written in the same way with beats I find really predictable… like BBT
But I’m happy to disagree and being called out if I’m hurtful

0·1 day agoI get that the Alien half assed their shit but after 3 books I don’t find particularly interesting since in the end (in my opinion and yours is valid too don’t get me wrong) it’s again and again half ass references
It’s like in some (most) marvel movies where they do a close up on a thing that is supposed to be a reference that only people who read comics are supposed to know but the way they’re showing the things is so a slap on your face that you know and you feel « I know, It’s because I’m in the in groupe ». I find this style very tedious and unimaginative.
But hey! It just me 😅

I love friends but people tend to hate it, I guess that’s ok too
