Nice site, just wish I saw it when I was much older instead. I wasn’t ready to learn visually what happens when you jump under a running helicopter when I was 12. Also the snake that ate an adult man made sure to make it’s return in my nightmares many times.

Reminds me of a time when shock and horror websites were still marginally more disturbing than regular news.

Users probably just moved to Reddit /r/watchpeopledie instead, before they decided money was important and blocked all the questionable shit.

It still lives at watchpeopledie.tv, presumably scarring a new generation of 12 year olds.

I always liked the picture of the body in the morgue bent over with its own head up its ass, even though it was fake as fuck. Great reaction pic for telling someone to pull their head out of their ass.

Ogrish and Rotten were two totally separate things that existed at the same time.

Yes I don’t remember the relationship but one of the three turned into the other and I always mix them all up. I think ogrish became liveleak but it might be rotten became liveleak or something like that.

Gruesome pictures of rotting bodies and accident photos stuff like that. It was a thing to be a kid and show other kids these sites until you all got grossed out then played outside or video games or what ever.

It’s actually kind of hard to find the og goatse pic now. I have all 4 angle saved on my phone, I send them to spam numbers. They never text me again for some reason.

There was a whole set of 40 images called gap.zip

E: if you dig a bit you can find it on the internet archive.

The best part is, my text app allows 256 pics to send at once, I have 256 copies in that folder to attach. If they receive pics, they’re getting pounded with goatse.

Fun fact: In the very early days of the internet, around the Windows 95/98 era, rotten.com was originally named thecreepingeyemorgue.com

Yes I’m that old LOL! I only know this because my friend’s dad was a cop, and when he’d be at work, we’d browse through his internet search history. Turns out friend’s dad was a bit of a psychopath…
