Mr. Robot but 11 years ago and only 4 seasons
With trash ending
what would have qualified as a ‘good’ ending to Mr. Robot for you? i prefer a series that accomplishes its narrative intent within a few seasons, then bundles its loose ends up nicely and concludes, rather than one that persists indedinitely for no good reason.
Mr robot lost me in like season 2 or 3. Can’t remember, but it felt like it went off the deep end compared to the setup in season 1
Am caught up on One Piece up to the end of the Egghead arc, waiting for the dub of the next arc. I don’t know what to do with my life now. 🙃

Me neither. After a couple Godfather movies I had enough of mafia stories - I can’t sympathize or relate with them, I just want 'em all to shoot each other and be done with it. But it’s fun to mock their distinctive vocal pattern.

It’s insanely good, definitely check it out. In the first episode Tony goes to therapy, and then runs someone over with his car, and later pulls a gun out of a fish and shoots a man with it.

I watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the first time this year. It was the perfect end-of-day comfort show.
Now I’ve finished all 7 seasons and there is a hole in my life.

Angel is pretty good but takes a season or so to find its feet.
The problem with angel is that there’s always something wrong with it.
Buffy regularly has seasons that are clearly what it should be and it’s easy to remember the baseline of what it is. Season 1 is monster of the week, high schoolers finding their footing. Season 2 has Angel, 3 has Faith. You don’t ever feel like “wait why isn’t soandso here”.
Angel is the opposite. Every watch I’ve wondered why some characters take so long to arrive or leave so soon when they’re so iconic. The overarching story also kinda meanders and I think part of the problem is that Angel is just a worse center for a show than Buffy was (or Cordelia was, I’m still mad she was written out). Also season 4 (or whatever the season with Connor being edgy) was actively bad. Then unfortunately the show was canceled after the best season where it felt like it finally understood itself.
Still absolutely worth a watch, it did great things for a few of the characters of Buffy who had to leave Sunnydale, as well as having more post face turn Cordelia and some of the best Faith scenes.
Ope, that hole is a rough one. I still crave more similar style shows with that good mix of light and dark and urban fantasy that doesn’t need to take itself too seriously.
Wildly different show, but The Magicians scratches a somewhat similar itch, especially after season 2. It’s definitely darker, but is also about young people struggling with the consequences of living in a world with magic that most people don’t know about while also having fun with it from time to time
Supernatural?
Honestly I prefer watching a series a few years after it came out. Because if there’s one thing I hate today it’s that you may watch the first season when it come out only for the next to either be cancelled or be delayed, only coming out 2-3 years after the first one. At that point I have to watch the 1st season again just to remember the details of what happened. By waiting until multiple seasons come out or if the show ends I can watch it all in one go and have a coherent story (unless the writers just give up by season 3 LOL.
I guess FOMO makes us watch everything right when it comes out. Or if it’s a really really good show and I enjoy the premise I’ll of course watch it as I go but man the wait can be excruciating sometimes.
Can’t relate. I’m intimidated by anything over 4 seasons. Too much of a commitment.

Just remember you don’t have to watch it all at once. In fact most older shows were meant to be watched once a week.
Cartoon wise, I strongly recommend the netflix adaptation of She-Ra And The Princesses Of Power.
Babylon 5 and Farscape for live action, they’ve not bern mentioned yet either, I don’t think.

I recently discovered Hamiltons Pharmacopeia and that shit is exactly what I need. Sadly it only has 3 Seasons.
And here I am contemplating trying to find “My Mother the Car” because it sounds stupid as fuck and I have wanted to experience the badness of it since my dad told me of its existence years ago.
