      Yep

As individuals, there are plenty of good 'Muricans

But there are a huge number of utter cunts, and their society is absolutely abhorrent

Dude… I voted for Fetterman. I honestly don’t know how to change anything now that I’ve been aggressively bait and switched by a Republican dick. I’m a naive fool.

This is how I feel about our species as a whole.

Sure there are good individuals, but the world we’ve created for ourselves to live in as a species is basically a torment nexus. And it’s entierly run and being supported by the worst of us, which kinda just ends up just being guilt by association because we can’t escape the system we’re in so defacto have to support it.

Trust me, I’ve never gotten what I voted for once. The majority of Americans havent gotten what they voted for. Of those that voted 60% didnt vote for this. And the majority of the population continued the trend of not voting.

I dont know how to fix it. You would think in a country built on the idea of keeping your guns so you can fight the government, that we would see more physical pushback.

I just dont want to live on this planet anymore.

What a disappointment the human race turned out to be.

US elections are not by popular vote, it is by district vote and the districts are redrawn every election cycle giving the ability to rig the elections. This is by design to maintain slavery and is still used today. Even if every undecided voter in California voted for Kamala and she had 2 million more votes than Trump, Like Hilary did, she would have still lost.

OK fuck Pete, but nowhere in his statement does he say he’s honoring the people from that battle.

What he said was it’s settled history, so we’re not going back and revising things long after the fact. This isn’t FIFA, after all.

History is often revisited and re-evaluated in a contemporary context. That’s why Biden removed many confederate statues because they were frankly embarrassing, and is very relevant to what happened here.

History is the collective and you’re welcome to revisit that. I’ll help and probably agree with most of what you write about that.

But these medals? That’s not history. That’s individual sacrifice, and those are earned independent of whatever asshole is in charge at the time. We shouldn’t be messing with those.

They’d be deserving of a medal if they had actually sacrificed something. Like disobeying the order of massacring women and children on grounds of their conscience and getting court-martialled for it. That would be worth a medal.

Upon managing to access the presidential bunker, the “march on D.C.” group were unsurprised to find that the first lady and chief of war had taken their own lives, what they were surprised to discover was the commander and chief had chosen not to, but instead empty his entire clip into the already deceased secretary of war at close range.

We can all agree it’s immoral, but it’s also just plain stupidity.

Even if you are white supremacist “kill all people of color”, you still need a professional military that’s not wasting time massacring civilians and creating PR disasters daily, if you hope to win any wars at all.

Also “their place in history is settled”: sorry to ruin your day but that’s not how collective processing of historical trauma works, nor history as a science.

They do not think they are the good guys, they genuinely relesh in their evil. They want to be grand moff Tarkin blowing up Alderean. They want to be Darth Vader force choking anyone that bothers them.

I think that’s a false equivalent. Yes, the Kaiser was authoritarian, but it was just another colonising parliamentary monarchy (like th UK). It had fewer colonies than the UK (good guys TM) and was less terrible to its own population than Russia (good guys TM).

It tries to reinvigorate that hurra war spirit, which is ok. But the poster is a bit more anti-german than it is anti-fascist.

the thing about propaganda is that it’s not meant to be accurate, factual, or even logical. it’s to modify people’s behavior based on their emotional response. you can see the effectiveness in literally everything the GOP says, writes, publishes, etc. their base eats it up like hogs at the trough while everyone else sits around still trying to convince them that last month’s lies were a “false equivalent”

or that they should care that it is

Meanwhile the portrait of U.S. military’s first Black four-star general, Daniel “Chappie” James Jr., was taken down from the Air Force Art Gallery at the Pentagon. You know someone who actually deserves recognition. I guess his place in history was not settled.
