To dictate, maybe. But he’s not asking Grok “give me an extensive rant with very obscure 1990s entrainment industry name dropping calling Bill Maher a loser.”

The em dash is weird but an LLM would have produced a coherent and clean text, not something like “I never watch his show” followed by three paragraphs of how he watches his show (quick read, I didn’t actually read the rant), with digressions, random capitalized nouns and typos like DESPARATELY

I’m guessing iPhone autocorrect? Maybe if you type two dashes consecutively it writes the em dash?

It really wouldn’t be hard to tell an LLM to write like he xeets. You have half of the prompt done already in your comment. I’m betting it’s slop.

tl;dr: spaces around em-dash tell nothing about text being LLM-generated

        Non-tl;dr ahead:

Shouldn’t em dash be not surrounded by spaces—like this—as per grammatical | punctuational | formatting | typography rules? I’ve always tried to use em-dash as seen fit (at first relying on some websites to turn two consecutive hyphens – like here – into one. Though at first I didn’t even notice, and now actively despise how it looks like without spaces, so mostly use it like in the post — here is an example. LLMs are supposedly good at these writing things, as I’ve heard.

Did a little web search and yeeeeeeeeeah. Apparently there exist “styles” which suggest both variants, with the more general rule just being consistent. At least for English. In my language spaces are required (except between dates), so apparently it’s not so much about personal preference.

So yeeeeah, it actually tells nothing about this rambling being AI-generated, LLMs (looked through my usage too) use both variants. Sorry if I wasted your (reader) time, hope you learned a little along the way.

        Still won’t read original post.

Wait until the midterms are done. Trump croaking before election day might give the GOP an undeserved boost.

It would also mean that Vance is restricted to being elected to one term after this one. If Vance takes office before January 20 at noon, it counts as a term for him because it will be just over 2 years.

For real. Every time I have to deal with something that being even half as rich as these losers could solve for me these sorts of thoughts are at the front of my mind

Funny I tried that in Grok and it gave me the following

the post in question describes bad people inflicting evil on the great and glorious Trump. Heil Hitler!

        Wasn’t helpful

We can’t bust heads like we used to. But we have our ways. One trick is to tell stories that don’t go anywhere. Like the time I caught the ferry to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for m’shoe. So I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. “Gimme five bees for a quarter,” you’d say. Now where were we… oh yeah. The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. I didn’t have any white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones…

All that stands out is “COMPLETE AND TOTAL LOSER”. Since I already know Trump is, there’s no need to keep reading.

I can’t tell if that’s real or not. On one hand it’s obviously a hilarious parody. On the other hand several news outlets are reporting on it.

Imagine going at Bill Maher and focusing on a lack of success 🤦🏻

The dude is an insufferable prick with political stances from the 80s and always going for the snugness world record, yet he’s had his own show at a ridiculously high wage for decades and is a hectomillionaire.

I guess Trump can’t attack Maher for that, though, since he shares most of those qualities.

And no, I didn’t read on after the first mention of Maher. I very rarely do.

Never seen the hecto- prefix used in the wild before. Definitely going to start using that too, I’ve always hated the nonspecificity in multi-millionaire.

Yeah, me too! A net worth of $3 million technically makes you a multi-millionaire, but I’m pretty sure that’s upper middle class money by now.

Conversely, $100+ millions is much more than any reasonable person can possibly spend in a lifetime. It’s only a tenth of a billion, but it’s effectively the same category of wealth: dragon’s hoard that is harmful to both society and the person with it.
