Mormons are essentially catholicism reboot (or ‘Christian 2.0’) . They have an entire extra book with all new jesus stories. An extra prophet. Plus there’s blessed underwear and freemason style ceremonies. They also essentially have a pope.
Resemblance to Christianity or Catholicism is essentially academic.
I talked with two elders and they told be they believe in the succession of priesthood, they don’t like the idea of someone without that knowledge being supposedly sent by God to preach without it.
And in their personal opinion agreed more with the Catholics/Orthodox in that regard, rather than the Protestants.

As a recovering catholic, don’t get me wrong they believe some silly shit but mormons are on a whole other level.
