  • Unions can be useful… I have a friend who after 30 years would clearly be fired and replaced by three new employees with no experience because, to a director it looks like he or she saved money and so can be guaranteed a promotion…

Where I disagree with Unions is that they have no accountability. If they negociate a scrappy deal or employees get no salary increase, they should give back to the employee as a padding or a rainy day situation considering union members do continue to pay the ever increasing fee of union membership.

I see unions here in Quebec(Canada) becoming fabulously rich while their scrape by…

Just look at companies that have seamstresses, they will offer full suits for the higher strata of society and yet the working conditions are like sweat shops… And they are unionized which makes you wonder how bad it could get…

It feels, from my perspective that unions are useful so long as people can opt out and vote anonymously which is not always the case…

  • What would be the misinformation? A typical working family in the 1970 could survive and feed their family. Today, a working family barely make enough money to pay for rent.

If CEO deserve their pay (hypothetically) then why would the employee not equally get higher salary increase?

Please explain how business have not, at least in the last 30 years, focused on gaining high profit for shareholders and care very little of the consumer or the workers.

A CEO goal is not to serve the board to the point of ripping a business apart. In that same breath, a Board should actually be held accountable to not pillage companies to simply increase their already big portfolio…

  • Lol of I was with that CEO in the trolley I would have probably pushed him off a long time ago, sticks or not…

I do believe that billionaires are evidence of abuse to the extreme.

I do not see the difference between a billionaire and a slave owner because in actuality as most people have said previously, they have gained their wealth through the suffering of others.

I wish the government would tax them for at least a fifth of there salary considering no one needs a billion dollar to live, it’s pure fantasy

  • Well to be fair when someone speaks in such a polite manner I tend to assume the worst of them.

As a French Canadian I do not support capitalism in its current form. I think we need to abandon our capitalist roots and create a new hybrid system which makes it more balanced but also, I would say I am. Living in a country where corporations don’t have as much power. You are right, I am not an American so I haven’t live what you have however I know that it’s current system is bull.

As a personal note I have always supported Bernie Sanders however there is a huge portion of Americans who chose to close their eyes one hat is going on. I tend to follow the George Carlin philosophy to doubt my leaders good intentions while also taking personal responsibilities for the leader we have.

It’s very easy to say that politics is shit but hard to actual do something about it.

How many time has Senator Sanders been rejected and yet he still comes back and I respect him for that, always will be user he is the type of leader America needs if the democratic party wasn’t as broken… I don’t care for the republicans either as they have become a religious cult…

Anyway, sorry if I became personal, it was not justified. All the best to you and your family. Quebec and Vermont have always shared similar vakurdt

  • Look man, I don’t see what your solution is here, you don’t want to protest so what are you proposing as a solution? Just give power in the end of a random guy who decides to shoot random billionaires? Do you not see what I’d the next step outside of the typical justification for the rich to have their own militia and the actually lead to even worst civil violence?

As I said, I don’t have he answer but protest and boycott do work. It is what made the world change the policies for apartheid South Africa, it is what forced the British out of India.

The onyl difference today its that its harder to prevent the truofrom coming out but what is the point if no one will stand up for what is right.
