    I won’t shed any tears for Trump if and when he bites the dust, but it would’ve been far worse if the assassination was successful. It’s not like the far right and Project 2025 would just disappear with Trump, not to mention guys like JD Vance are quite capable of taking his place and with less baggage.

      Part of me thinks the MAGA enthusiasm is a personality cult about Trump and can’t be replicated. But you may be right about Republicans being capable of carrying his agenda post-Trump.

      Nah with how centralised the Republican effort is around Trump atm killing him would throw them into disarray for multiple years until they were able to summon up a similarly charismatic demagouge which outside of trump they simply don’t have atm.
