This thread is why I don’t like international politics. The word zionist, zio, etc., are complicated. Some use it like saying the n-word and is anti-Semitic. Others use it as literally the person is showing Zionist beliefs behaviour. I can’t tell which and I don’t even know if SBC is a pro Zionist behavior kind of guy. The end result is I’m taking those comments down.
I respectfully disagree with the decision to remove all those comments. I genuinely would have been interested in them.
You can still see them in the community modlog if you’d like.
I can’t even get to that from my apk I use for Lemmy.
I swear, this place is just turning into reddit. Bunch of overzealous mods building themselves little bubbles of their preferred propaganda.
Here’s a link: https://sh.itjust.works/modlog/17165
Yeah not in for the Zionist islmaphobic joker tbh
He is supposed to be be a villain though.
Damnit, him too?
Like, he’s against Islam? And you support Islam?
I honestly don’t know what you are reading to feel that this response is in anyway relevant to the discussion at hand.
We DON’T support bigotry. How is that complicated?

A genuinely hilarious but still also undeniably evil Joker would be a good direction to try.
Cohen is an awful person though with unfunny movies based on racism.
I felt like I was being overly sensitive when everybody at the time praised shit like Borat and Ali G as if it wasn’t obviously racist. Real glad his shitty Zionism dispelled whatever it was that made people like this guy.
Free Palestine
Hell yeah
I’m actually glad the racist zio doesn’t get even more attention
I will use this as an opportunity to once again state that Jared Leto’s Joker does not deserve the hate he gets (Jared Leto himself notwithstanding). He’s a gangster with a touch of camp (his purple Lamborghini has custom Gotham plates reading “HAHAHA,” c’mon!) and gives off the sort of vibes that makes you WANT to see Batman punch him. Joker should not be “cool” or “compelling.” He’s a crazy dude in clown make-up. IRL you meet a guy with a Joker poster on the wall, you know that you should probably leave. Same should be the case in Batman’s universe.
I would argue that compelling can work if it’s done right. Like the Joaquin Phoenix actor was the right balance of “compelling” but in a bad way where he’s obviously compelling for the wrong reasons. He’s like a fucked up call of the void joker, an antihero for incels.
All the incel drama that came out of that first movie was a sign that Joker was done really well IMO. He made the character believable, someone who could convince a fucked up troupe of incels to put clown paint on and terrorize people as a way of taking out their own anger back at the world for not fitting in.
Like it always seemed so fucking weird that he had a posse of clowns. That was the first Joker to make it real.
And give the character just the slightest touch of “Brüno” and it would be insane…
Nobody can top Jack Nicholson imo
Nah, they should hire someone funny.
Zionists are no longer welcome in polite society
