Marty would be teenager from today. He’d be livestreaming Doc Brown’s experiment. He’d see his dad watching the dancing baby in the 90s and be like, “I’ve seen this meme, it’s classic”. They’d be like, “wtf is a meme”.
“Oh he means an image macro”
Super Mario Brothers was released closer to WWII than to today.
Joe Biden was born closer to the inauguration of Abraham Lincoln than to his own.
I haven’t heard this one before. Excellent.

Blame it on the Rain. I’d be like “oh I’ve seen these guys before, they lip sync and the guy on the left is about to die.”
Wow what a reference lol
Dad crawls out from under the desk
“Hey hey hey, now we can surf the World Wide Web!”
Marty: “Hey I’ve seen this funny image before.”
Kid: “How have you seen it before? It just got posted.”
Marty: “Yeah, it’s a… repost.”
Kid: “What’s a repost?”
He would play Daft Punk and they wouldn’t be ready for it.
Harder!
Daft! Daft! It’s Marvin. Your cousin, Marvin Punk?
I feel like he’d start talking in brain rot and be like, “Your kids are gonna love it.”
Naw, he’d play something more incomprehesible to the 90s, like skrillex or the later evolutions of the genre.
Not quite the same timeframe, but that clip of the surviving members of The Doors listening to Skrillex is one of the most hilarious things I’ve ever seen.
Maybe some manic hyperpop
Or some kpop
Kpop started in the 90s with Seo Taiji and Boys.
Hyperpop didn’t start until the 2010s.
I feel like Dillon Francis is the right level of “starts out normal enough, then devolves into chaos”
“I Need YOU YOu You you yo y-”
Opens with Marty mumble rapping in fron of a giant speaker that explodes.
Daft Punk were already around in 95 though
Yeah, basically all dancey electronic music was invented in the nineties, little remained to discover. Idm and breakcore already came about with the crazy structures. Dubstep is the one major missing link, but it’s pretty straightforward evolution from dnb.
Fun fact: Scorn’s ‘Greetings from Birmingham’ came out in 2000 (made by former Napalm Death drummer Mick Harris), but somehow the dubstep genre got entirely hijacked by the London people later on.
“Ladies and gentlemen of the class of ‘99… wear… sunscreen.”
Like, yeah, that’s how time and math work.
But not how humans tend to perceive the passage of time.
Watch as my corporeal form fades into dust.
The more important question, what car would be the one modified ti become a time machine?
In the category of “quirky and iconic but affordable sports car just a few years old at the time of the plot” there’s probably only one obvious choice for 1995: Mazda MX-5
Yeah, my thought was either a Miata or maybe go a bit more exotic and go with the Lotus Elise (first released in 1996).
Lotus Elise would almost have been a perfect fit, if it had been a little less expensive and released a couple of years earlier.
As far as short-lived US brands with only one production model go, there are two choices in the recent past - Fisker Karma and Lordstown Endurance.
Based on Hollywood’s current casting priorities, it would have to be a Subaru.
And Marty would have to be played by Zendaya. With Pedro Pascal as Doc.
I’m not ashamed to say i would enjoy that.
Based on the stainless steel body requirements, I know the answer and I don’t like it.
What car could they be referring…
stainless steel body…
AH FUCK YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH
Took me a second and I wish I hadn’t figured it out
If they remake BTTF with a Cybertruck we should burn down the movie studio
Yeah, remember Doc Brown’s reason for choosing the DeLorean was because, “If you’re gonna travel through time, you ought to do it in style”.
Cybertruck is not style unless you are a brain-rotted seven-year-old.
Maybe a Rivian? You’d have to come up with a different issue other than the car not starting, like the difficulty of charging it or something.
Except DeLorean’s reputation was as unreliable and lame.
But stylish. Cybertruck is Sega Genesis graphics shoved into a ps1 body
I think about joke in the movie would be its supposed to be a cyberpunk, but the vehicle falls apart during a test run, so they use a Ford focus instead.
The song is Cbat, watch for the key changes and try to keep up
I hope the advice he’d give is, “mind those Tide pods.”
And then he’d be in the future of '56 where people are calling each other “choom” and solar power doesn’t work cause of all the dust and pollution in the sky, but people wear two neckties sometimes.
Sounds nova
Stop, stop, it’s getting too real!
He’d introduce the music industry to the hip new sound of dubstep
Would watch.
Marty, please take me with you.
The song 1985 was released in 2004 which is 19 years after 1985 and 22 years before now.
