No-one tell him the 300 lost. It’s funnier.
Why is the “This is Iran” flag behind him? Is he an Iranian agent? A trick question, I know.
I think this is a reference to the movie 300, where there is a line “this is Sparta”, but I never saw the movie and also it doesn’t make sense.
It also reminded me of that. But the weird thing is that Sparta is the one we were supposed to root for, in the movie. So why would the Trumpists write Iran there? Maybe just stupidity once again?
lol that’s why I added “also it doesn’t make sense.”
Maybe in bizarro opposite world, the Persians are not the Persians. We are the Persians and the Persians are the Spartans. Therefore they say “this is Iran” and then also lose to us (us being the Persians) and in this twisted remake it now follows the plot line 🤷
AI generation is pretty shit.
Yes, but the equivalent to that would be “this is the US”, right? This sounds like Trump is fighting on the side of Iran.
Why are we trying to reason about Trump’s senility?
To make it unquestionable, some people still doubt for some reason.
Not directly. He serves Russia, which has interests in increasing Iran’s influence on the world stage.
I’m getting really tired of seeing ol’ Bonespurs Draftdodger depicting himself in military gear…
Gerald Butler must be so fuckin’ pissed right now.
Just a couple notorious child fuckers.
Now pay attention to this meaningless social media nonsense while the government does nothing to prepare for or help as a hurricane is on course to fuck our shit up, because they’re too busy blowing up schools, hospitals, and aide workers.
This is propaganda, stop fucking feeding it.
“To oppose something is to maintain it. They say here “all roads lead to [this city].” To be sure, if you turn your back on [this city] and walk away from it, you are still on the [city’s] road. To oppose vulgarity is inevitably to be vulgar. You must go somewhere else; you must have another goal; then you walk in a different road.” ― Ursula K. Le Guin, The Left Hand of Darkness
Did the Greeks lose?
Greece wasn’t a single entity at that time. It was full of independent city states, like Sparta.
That battle yes yes they did. Also everyone was fairly abhorrent by current moral standards in the ancient world Sparta was particularly gross.
Honestly, I imagine an alternative history where Persia conquered Greece; which means no Alexander the Great, no Greek empire, likely no Roman empire and no Caeser.
The Persians respected the religious views of their people, so Europe would likely still be filled with Celtic and Germanic cultures. Egypt would have remained Egyptian. Jesus might have been deified as a god-king instead of crucified, and then went on the implement socialist reforms throughout the Levant and beyond.
No Umayyad or Abbasid Empires. No Mamluks, Seljuks, or Ottomans. The Mongols would have been welcomed as friendly merchants instead of having their emissaries executed, whipping them into a blind rage which ravaged Eurasia.
The Persians would have had regular contact spanning from the Indus Valley to the Balkans, the Caucasus, and the borders of Egypt, being a source of stability and trade, cultural and intellectual exchange. Buddhism and Christianity could have melded into a truly enlightened and altruistic religion with elements of all the others and tolerance for religious diversity.
I mean there’s no guarantee it would turn out so neatly, but there’s a good chance things would have gone a lot better than they did…
Humanity has a clear version of evil and has failed to deal with it. Humanity is pathetic.
Compared to what? The dolphins are a bunch of rapists.
No, but a funny punishment for billionaires has just been unlocked.
Wouldn’t he be Persia in this pic since the flag held by the Spartans says “This is Iran” instead of “This is Sparta” implying they’re representing Iran rather than America, and he’s the only one dressed differently, implying he’s not with them, so then the Americans must be the Persians?
I’m sure it has nothing to do with AI being dogshit and him being too dumb to have noticed that, it must be on purpose.
He doesn’t care. He’s just into the gay stuff.
As a gay, I don’t find that humorous. Leave that in the 90s.
And the child raping!
It’s fun to stay at the Thermopylae
Amazing how Lemmy seems to find homophobic jokes okay
He was never “nice”.
Private bonespurs sure does like playing dress up. And musicals. And gold plated everything. And interior design. Just sayin.
And sucking off Bill Clinton.
When Americans see this, do they feel proud of their elected leader? I can tell you what the rest of the world thinks about him.
1/3 of the country thinks he’s the best thing to ever happen to America. They eat this stuff up.
1/3 of the country thinks he’s somewhere between a national embarrassment and an existential threat to our constitutional democracy.
1/3 of the country is apathetic about politics and cannot be bothered to give a shit over way or the other.
That last third are just as bad as the third who support him
I’d say, they are not equally bad in a moral way. But they are definitely a bigger danger to the world, because the first group might hold a bad apple accountable. Not saying that is happening here, but the apathic self-centered group doesn’t have the means to do that, while the Trump supporters at least have some sort of connections with the people in power.
bUt BuT bUt… Kamala would’ve been JuSt aS bAd FoR gAzA.- intellectually lazy protest non-voters.
And most all of the country can’t afford to do anything since most are a couple paychecks from homelessness and depend on their employer for healthcare.
One should wonder, if the majority of a country is living paycheck to paycheck, is that country a developed country?
Sure, we’ve just developed into a fascist oligarchy
When I see this, I feel profoundly confused. Also embarrassed.
Most of us wake up hoping the news says he’s dead.
His close base sees the gun and goes RAWR, I LOVED THAT MOVIE.
75%+ aren’t loving it, 60% are against him and 10% just want the economy to stop doing a nosedive
60% are against him
It still amazes that this percentage has been like this since over a decade and still he got elected, twice. Something is/was really broken, otherwise he could never have become president. Maybe the place for this comment but everytime i read something like this I am just really surprised this doesn’t mean we dont have to deal with the turd.
The entire US political system is designed to prevent the will of the majority from bend enacted. Just look at the number of votes in the senate for each party as one of the more egregious examples.
No. It’s constant shame, embarrassment, and fear of what new fuckwitted ideas he’ll have tomorrow.
I feel like he’s a cringe dumb fuck who in multiple ways doesn’t know he’s losing to Persia
Fuck no, this is embarrassing and stupid.
As a Pennsylvanian I saw the writing on the wall leading up to the 2024 election. I grew up in a very conservative household, and my parents are still very pro-Trump. His reelection destroyed me, despite it seeming inevitable. How can a large chunk of this country not only not feel shame from this, but actively encourage and enjoy it?
But what do your parents say to those kind of posts? I’m genuinely interested. It’s so bizarre to me.
my dad just sort of handwaves them away as “jokes” and aggressively refuses to engage any further than that
Because your country is broken, and uncivilised
Stupidity is celebrated and worldliness and curiousity are viewed with fear and suspicion
Oh, and then there’s the hatred…
Remind implies he learned literally anything in the first place. He doesn’t have the cognitive oomph to wipe his own ass, it’s amazing he can speak at all tbh.
I mean, he’s got child-fucking in common with the Spartans. Maybe he did do his research
Hold up, in the background there’s a Greek soldier holding a flag that says This Is Iran? What? So that’s saying that the Greeks and therefore Donald Trump are on Iran’s side? What the fuck? I mean I know it’s silly to look for coherence in anything related to him but still.
I know it’s silly to look for coherence in anything related to him but still.
Definitely. The intended effect is something more like “Holy shit, did you see that photo of Trump with that guy from 300? Apparently they went to Iran together and shot up a bunch of terrorists with sick machine guns! I bet 300 guy Sparta-kicked Saddam Hussein or whoever right in the NUTS! He’s such a bad-ass!”
