I love playing “summoner” characters whose minions have “AI”. I handle the macro and pick up loot. It makes me feel like I’m watching a good plan work out.

Why the hell would it be a good thing to withhold knowledge from junior devs?
What I’ve read is it’s meant to keep crosstalk from multiple devs using AI at once from messing up each other’s work. So everyone can just vibe code and not have any idea what their doing in their own little space.

The part that frustrates me is that we already have been through this sort of shit with “smart speakers”. The slowest way to interact with a computer or machine will always be through speech.

When Vibe coding the slowest thing is reading the code produced. If you review the code though everything grinds to a halt. I’ve vibe coded a feature or two. It took 1 day to vibe code and another week or two to properly review the code it wrote.
The industry ‘secret’ is that no one gives a shit. Claude has like two 9s of uptime.

I kind of wonder just how dirty we could make things look entirely using non-sexual tech gear. Or how close we could really get things to look like a full gimp suit.
The obvious next part is covering the top half of the face with a VR headset. Add one of those “improved strap with added battery” things to cover more of the top and back of the head.

Ok honestly if it works this sounds great for me in my house while my wife sleeps for her Saturday or Sunday shifts. I am obnoxiously loud and love playing games and bullshitting with friends on those nights. I have kept her up and few nights before. But if this even has 1/2 of the dampening power, that’s amazing.

Given we have court stenographers who need to use a very specific keyboard, months of training and can STILL be overwhelmed by too rapid of a speech pattern - our world?
Nah thats nothing alike. Have you tried dictating things as notes or instructions? It’s impossible to beat even average typing speed.

You might be underestimating how fast people working in tech type. Actual issue studied today in comprehension is the fact that keyboard typing (or even phone) is faster than our thought thus hindering comprehension and memorization. This is primary factor that is making pen and paper trend in tech and education circles right now.
Honestly speech as input is still extremely niche because it’s slow and even with massive accuracy improvements still inaccurate.
Try to outrun a court stenographer using a text-to-speech program.
A trained court stenographer can 225 to 360 words per minute. This guy, optimistically, claims he can do 150.
The hurdle there is comprehending multiple speakers with different backgrounds fast enough. Typing that fast isn’t unrealistic if it’s your own thoughts you’re putting out.
2 reasons : first there are multiple speakers, second speech contains a lot of words that could be optimized away in a prompt but matter for courts. My voice prompts are so dirty and unclear compared to well thought, text ones

Cause LLM handles the part of actually ‘writing’ the code with all the nitty-gritties. You just prompt it what you want in a couple of lines and chill waiting for the output. 🤷♂️
