An aside from trans memes, but I noticed I play as a woman more in voiced games vs the old silent protagonist games. They usually direct the male voice as flat and gritty and the female voice tends to have more range. True in both fallout 4 and cyberpunk at the very least. Makes the male action hero voice boring.
Would be distracting to me since my acculturation is still highly gendered, so I don’t do that. I’d just prefer something with a little more depth than Jon Snow sometimes.
Even in situations where the male actor is good, the long period of stoicism just grates on me. Male Shepard just ends up sounding ridiculous with his seriousness for example.

What do you do if you can pick voice and body independently?

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey also comes to mind. Generic boring angry dude, or witty, cheeky goddess? Hmmmm

Cherami Leigh is like half the reason I played Cyberpunk
