    This meme is trash

Bourgeoise is the (disappearing) middle class (read; final participants in the “American dream”)

    Op means “the elite”

    Bourgeoise just sounds fancy.

The aristocracy had a definitively feudal relation to production and largely do not exist today just as peasants largely do not exist today. Bourgeoisie does sound fancy which is why “owning class” is a decent substitute imo

The bourgeoisie was a middle class between the aristocracy and the peasantry until they overthrew and abolished the aristocracy to become the new ruling class, so they’re not aristocrats nor middle class, but they’re still very much the bourgeoisie.

The bourgeoisie might have been the middle class in feudalism, but they are very much the ruling class in capitalism (as others here have pointed out).

The bourgeoisie is not the middle class. The middle class is not even a class. Class is not an income bracket it is your relationship to the system of production. The Bourgeoisie is the class which owns the means of production and purchases labor power from the working class (proletariat) who utilize the means of production to produce commodities in exchange for a wage. Op meant the bourgeoisie.

The “middle class” is mixture of the petit bourgeoisie (small business owners) and labor aristocracy (proletariats paid enough to be comfortable). I do not like the term labor aristocracy but it is the term used.
