Nonono, it’s fine, see we’ve bought these half-inch thick cushions with quilt effect that have these little string on them that tie onto the backrest, so stop complaining and eat the Grey Meat and with Beige Vegetables your Grandma spent all day making somehow.

That table is the best table you’ll ever get. Will last for a very long time so long as it wasn’t made after maybe the 80s or 90s. So long as you ain’t doing anything rough on it, it will last a lifetime.

Though, growing up, we had nicer wood back chairs. I never had problems with them. Worst problem I had was always being the one who had to take a seat that was up against a wall, so I had to slide in and didn’t have a lot of room to adjust where my chair was, besides maybe moving a little to the right.

My family got this set off craigslist to replace an objectively better dining table set that just needed to be refinished. Tried using cushions with them, but they were still a bit uncomfortable.

Saying that, the OP set would unfortunately be quite the upgrade compared to all the MDF and engineered wood that’s so common nowadays :(

not cool until you sit at this table eating your cornflakes with added nicotine.

the chairs were really comfy, but held onto any grease from the kitchen.

Not only did we have this table, my parents donated it to our first college apartment, and then I dragged that stupid thing around for ten years until my father was like “oh you still have this thing.”

Yeah I thought it was like some heirloom, but apparently it was actually something they bought from a yard sale when they first got married and kind of hated for 18 years.

They were sold as a set.

It was a relatively high quality and cost effective AND not terribly gaudy / ugly.

Theres a reason “ya basic kitchen table set” is everywhere
