I’ve seen lots of posts about the ad, but not the ad itself. Here it is.

Ronald Reagan was an extremist dipshit and his neoliberal right wing turn set the stage for the hyper-neoliberal era of Trumpism. If our own political leadership in the 90ies hadn’t followed along with the thatcherite bullshit politics and hadn’t tightly integrated with the US, we wouldn’t be in the situation we’re in now.

That we’re reduced to extolling the pontifications of that moron from the '80s is just proof of the incredibly bad situation we’re in.

Correct, Ronald Reagan is the poster child for neoliberal policy. I think that’s why it was chosen because when he calls out tariffs for conservatives the call is coming from inside the house.

What sucks bout the left is that clearly we all know how much this ad infuriates him. The left can’t be bothered to share stuff that bothers trump. Like they’ll window watch. Barely give an upvote. Definitely not spread it though. I looked on Reddit and this was at 2k upvotes. Like the lefts online engagement is weaker than their punches. If you can’t even muster the courage to gut punch donny online when it takes no effort, you sure as fuck ain’t ever going to punch any Nazis in real life. This is why nobody on the right is scared or concerned of the left. They can’t even seize on these layups. 2k people bothered to upvote a video on a platform of millions. There was 7 million in the streets the other week. Where’d they go?

I don’t know why Trump is whining; that ad was heard by millions of U.S. citizens years ago. Today it’s only an expensive rerun but on by the Ontario government. What’s the problem?

It wasn’t about the ad. If you beliece that, you’re falling into Trumps trap.

Canada imposed retaliatory tariffs only hours before on GM and another auto company.

Trump heard that and made up the butt-hurt over the Reagan ad as an excuse to get upset that the victim (again) was fighting back rather than submitting, which Canada will NEVER do.

The ad is simply a diversion. He knew of the ad days before his idiotic post. But his post was in response to those decisions to retaliate against Trumps agression.

He’s upset that Canada is not playing his game, so he keeps knocking stuff over to try and put Canada off-balance.

This theory holds no water. Earlier this year the child rapist president complained about our tariffs and escalated based on that, why would he “hide the real reason” now and what difference does his excuse for a tantrum make?

Our government has done a lot of submitting. A few months into the start of this Carney said the time to fight was over.

To the republicans, Reagan is kind of a god. Reagan saying those things really could wake up a lot of his base. That’s why there was a tantrum about this.

Trump will just whine about some other random complaint and make up lies to “justify” doing whatever he wants to do.

That’s how he ‘negotiates’. He bullies his opponent then throws a toddler tantrum when they stand up to his demands. When they back down he makes a new demand.

He does it because IT WORKS. Every time he he throws himself on the floor and kicks his legs someone backs down and teaches him that it’s an effective way to negotiate. Every single person who has backed down to him is responsible for teaching him. And then they’re surprised when he does it again.

Anyone familiar with early childhood development can tell you why it’s a bad idea to give in to a baby like him. But no world leaders, apparently.

I disagree. I think he is very worried that the Supreme Court will tell him his tariffs are illegal and he freaked out because this ad is the sort of thing that might sway some of the conservatives on the court.
