A security company, run by evangelicals. Not sure where the line is between security guard and privatized police acting in a zone they were not authorized in.
Off duty security guard may be the best term. The security group likely makes their vehicles and gear look similar to police intentionally so people react to them like police.
Laws against such would be good.
No problem since the police makes themselves look like military, so if it looks like a tank, it’s probs police, if it looks like a police car, it’s most likely security. If it looks like security, then I guess it’s going to be Jimbo with the lifted truck bought on credit. /s
