Michael Gloss, 21, was the son of CIA Deputy Director for Digital Innovation Julianne Gallina Gloss, and Iraq war veteran Larry Gloss.

Before arriving in Russia on August 13, 2023, Gloss was travelling around Europe. On his Vkontakte page bio, he wrote: “I ran away from home (and) traveled the world. I hate fascism.”

On April 4, 2024, he was killed, likely during a Russian offensive near Bakhmut, however, his burial in the U.S. did not take place until December 2024, Important Stories reports.

From the end of the article

But despite supporting Ukraine at the beginning of the full-scale war, he was at a military recruitment center in Moscow, alongside other foreign nationals, on September 5, 2023, Russian border data shows.

His social media posts show a distinct change in his views — one identified by Important Stories as belonging to Gloss suggest he believed in conspiracy theories involving Ukraine, and claimed NATO was an evolution of Adolf Hitler’s Nazi party.

Either extremely impressionable, or maybe had his account handed over after he was pulled off the street and conscripted into a ruzzian meat wave.

Either way, tragic waste of human life, being anywhere near involvement with their military.

Because he is a fascist and want to isolate the country. Maybe even because he have common interest with putin. Fascists do.

Now who coup’ed the USSR and sponsored ultranationalism in russia?

            That’s right. The nato.

They’re the same clique. Fuck the nato. Fuck putin.

What the fuck are you on about?

The USSR imploded because it was a corrupt and violent kakistocracy

I don’t know that the US had anything to do with the coup, but it didn’t work anyway, and they were much more friendly with the anti-coup people than with the coup. I could be wrong but I thought it was by hard-liners who were opposed to Gorbachev’s reforms and wanted to keep the USSR together back according to its old principles instead of liberal reforms.

Nobody sponsored ultranationalism in Russia except by accident. The IMF and BIll Clinton sponsored gangster capitalism, which took off like gangbusters and defined the gruesome arc of the next several decades of Russian government. It’s one of the great sadnesses of the late 20th century, the promise of what could have been for the Soviet people in the wake of mostly peaceful anti-communist revolution simply getting replaced by more misery.

              Fuck the nato. Fuck putin.

              Lol

Not really. NATO had many ex top Nazis at the helm directly after world war 2. The line between Nazi Germany and NATO is very straight.

One of the most notable being top Nazi Adolf Heusinger https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolf_Heusinger

Where the other guy went wrong is thinking that anyone opposing NATO in this case Russia suddenly becomes objectively good.

Well just because there are nazis dudes in an organization does not make it nazi itself. After the collapse of fascism, a lot of fascists kept or acquired important roles, there were nazi cunts in french administration, and i dont think it made the administration automatically nazi.

Since NATO was not iniated by nazis, nor by Germany, and has no nazi goals, i’m not sure if we can say that the line between Nazi Germany is very straight. It exists sure, but it’s probably not straight and certainly quite thin.

When the top of the organisation is a Nazi it sounds pretty Nazi to me.

Combined with the NATO genocides in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea, Palestine and more, it is obvious NATO is led by “Ubermenschen.”

But hey. The truth is very inconvenient.

NASA hiring a ton of Nazis is not the win you think it is. Yes the West did not abolish Nazism. Churchill was a massive anti semite and white surpremacist. They mostly fought the Nazis because Hitler was about to steal their power. Not because of conflicting ideals.

As far as I can tell is Heusinger guy was a career military officer, for the Imperial German army, the Weimer rupublic, Nazi Germany, and Post war Germany. So sure we can he should have defected from the Nazis but he wasn’t exactly a brown shirt either.

Heusinger was a top ranking Nazi which served in the atrocities and genocide against the Soviet Union.

The only one glorifying Nazis here is you. Take your Ruzzian paycheck and go home. Or is it that you’re paid by the post? Seems likely since you’ve not said anything different from:

“One time a Nazi existed which means that NATO and everything I’m paid not to like is currently a Nazi organization”.

When asked to explain that absolutely insane mental leap you just continue to say the same thing in different ways over and over. You are not a serious person.

Explain how NATO, NASA and everything else in the world that a single Nazi at one time a hundred years ago had something to do with, is currently bad and fascist, or crawl back into your hole.

The way these “theories” are thrown around these days with such an air of legitimacy is truly terrifying.

This absolute miracle of communication at our fingertips, and it’s 99% noise, dangerous noise, vying to worm its way into whatever cracks in the human psyche it can find. At the least harmful, it’s persuading ads. And on the other end, people are flying out to go join ISIS or Ruzzia because they got algorithmed into a Facebook group or absorbed enough TikTok radiation.

I miss when the internet “wasn’t real life.”

Yes pro authoritarian far left that’s basically communism.

China is hardly a communism right now, Russia definitively isn’t a communism. So the current tankies that are worshipping Russia and China aren’t really for communism, they are only pro authoritarianism.

They are actually more aligned with MAGA than anything, the only difference is just that they don’t have problem openly supporting Russia and China.

Since this is world community there are people in other countries, and might be different definition what’s far left. But in US what authoritarians are labeling as far left are people who still want liberal democracy, but with social programs (what you have in EU, especially in Scandinavian countries). The “furthest left” politicians, Bernie Sanders is basically advocating for medical care for all Americans and taxes on rich. Basically so the government works for the people but against them.

Yes pro authoritarian far left that’s basically communism.

I’d say it’s the stages before communism. When the authoritarians have to take all the power to give it to the people. The problem is that is impossible. Once the authoritians have taken all the power, they never give it up. So real communism doesn’t exist and can never exist because it always requires some type of revolution and central organization after the effects of the revolution. And that central power will never give up that power.

So just because they haven’t reached “true” communism doesn’t mean they are all of a sudden now on the “far-right”.

Today’s tankies are still considered far-left.

That’s because of corruption. As of now communism to be implemented requires authoritarianism. Authoritarianism is the main reason why communism is bad.

Currently both, tankies as well as far right don’t really care about socialism (if tankies cared about socialism they wouldn’t support China or Russia). All they are supporting is authoritarianism.

What far right labels as far left (in US at least) are people who support liberal democracy with protections and safety nets for working class. The “most radical” Bernie Sanders is exactly for that.

There might be actual communist parties in Europe, they hardly have any support.

Tankies have almost nothing in common with the far left outisde teenagers who haven’t worked out the fundemental flaws with communism yet. Beyond those teenagers most left wing folk consider tankies to be pretty right wing.

But tankies almost universally want authoritarianism and dictatorships? those are far right positions. The left tends to want some flavour of socialist democracy. Tankies are left like China is communist.

These are both far right and far left positions. That’s what I’m saying.

The left tends to want some flavour of socialist democracy.

Yes, the center-left wants this. The far-left wants revolutions and purity tests, burning down the system, and leaving minorities to die and fend for themselves.

not that i would die for fucking russia but its the lesser evil vs the us. i suppose its easier to see that if you are closely related to cia people.

the us has done and and even admitted to stuff far worse than most out there. its not the biggest military budget in the world (of all time?) for nothing.

ukraine is an US proxy to shoot at russia. the us is provoking and paying for the war to weaken russia.

a win for russia is a loss for the west, which because of imperialism and colonialism, is a win for everyone else.

i didnt really put it that way, but kind of.

the cia has been talking openly about provoking it since the mid to late 2000s. putin has also been saying he would take nato expansion as a sign of aggression. this war was completely avoidable.

this talk of “evul russia” or “poor ukraine” is just propaganda to manufacture consent for spending billions on an useless war instead of addressing poverty or something useful, and people should stop believing it. this war is not about morals or being “good” or “evil” at all.

I’m almost positive that widespread interest in Ukraine joining NATO spiked in popularity AFTER the invasion started and wasn’t even taken seriously until then. So… Russia really created their own problem in that regard.

NATO does not expand (invade to grab land), it is based on voluntary membership application (although it is not truly volunteer since they are being forced, antagonized to join due to russia expansionism). New members are only accepted through vote. “NATO expansion” is well known as putin/FSB propaganda meant for a certain naive audience.

NATO borders with russia are the most peaceful with the low number of russian troops. Internally, Russia is not concerned about NATO, a defense alliance since Russia has the highest number of nukes.

In the media, they will use NATO expansion propaganda because there are naive clowns and useful idiots who will believe in NATO expansion propaganda. Do remember russia was fine with Ukriane joining NATO, they saw they can use it as propaganda to justify russia expansionism. http://www.en.kremlin.ru/events/president/transcripts/21598.

Ukraine public support for joining NATO was in the minority before the war, and only after invasion it became majority. Even after Ukraine said they won’t apply to NATO, russia didn’t not stop its expansion because russia expansion has nothing to do with NATO.

In fact due to russia aggressive expansion even more countries applied to join NATO. Putin knew that russia expansion will encourage more to submit application to join NATO. Putin was warned to stop russia expansion as that just cause more to apply for NATO membership, it is open to anyone. Furthermore note that expanding russia territories just bring russia closer to NATO, increasing russia border with NATO. Clearly it is not about NATO.

Even, without using NATO, putin will come up with a new reason like nazis, terrorists or LGBTQ or WMDs or security issues ( a country with the most nukes in the world has a security issue? only naive clowns will believe that) or restoring empire/imperialism (which he admitted in interview with carlson) or all of the above each for a different audience. Whatever it takes to get crimea and its warm water ports, and later Donbas for a land bridge and to secure Crimea water supply. Eventually going all the way to Transnistria.

You think things are so simple as poor top nuclear powered russia who is scared of evil tiny Ukraine, for suggesting sending in membership application form to NATO. You are being naive at best. War does not work like a superhero movie.

NATO was created to protect small countries from russia expansionism and stop russia from antagonizing its neighbours.

Russia was even member of G8 until russia antagonized G8 members by invasion of Crimea. The only way a massive nuclear powered russia sees NATO as a “threat” is that NATO prevents russia from expansionism… from expanding russia territories.

NATO was literally created to antagonize Russia. The political process of expanding it IS aggression.

The CIA director was already saying this openly way back in the late 2000s. I’d trust that over stupid media narratives they use to manufacture consent for the war.

Its presence is a threat to them, regardless of who you think of as the good guys. (hint: its not the US empire.)

(hint: its not the US empire pushing for that expansion.)

Expansion (invasion to increase territories)? I think it is pretty clear that it is putin that is pushing for the expansion of russia empire, empire building into new territories.

The puzzling thing is why is Putin pushing/forcing more countries to sign up as NATO member instead of joining his own CSTO. Why is putin increasing its border with NATO and going closer to NATO, while spreading propaganda about NATO “expansion” when everyone clearly know that NATO is a voluntary membership system anyone can apply to join even russia.
