    There really isn’t a proper performance. Many nazi officials simply raised their hand palm facing away from them over their right shoulder. Generally at rallies touching your chest on the left hand side and then raising your right arm straight out with palm angled down and away from you is the basic salute. He did that. Twice.

    It’s quite common in old photos to see people’s hands dipping a bit doing it. Almost making a like cup shape with the hand. Hard to hold your hand aloft like that for long periods of time.
