Some time ago I read a description of SC like a cargo cult that mimics legal terminology like magic words that they expect nobody else to understand either.

Naww it wasn’t a question, my dude. It was a shower thought. A silly random idea that spurs some entertainment of thoughts and scenarios. But thanks! <3
“What are the local regulations for a rooftop helicopter platform?”
“At what depth are the subways should I have built a multilevel wine cellar?”
“Can you recommend a personal security firm in the area?”
I second this. DDG, Searxng and various LLM are my daily drivers depending on the queries. I don’t recognise DDG being bloated with ads like Google. I have adblockers but I put sites like DDG on the whitelist because hey support the good guys.
Is it topical? Regional? Does OP have malware that is transforming the browser document? Is OP searching for niche content and confusing singular domain results for ads? Has DDG shifted owners and doing some tests?
I would like to know more.
Just a friendly reminder for anybody confused that there has been no pet eating by scary pigmenterad people. It was all make believe pulled from floppy racist arses.
In the American mindset, their own wars are fought by the poor people and in faraway countries. Both unrelatable on a personal level, both expendable for political rhetoric and engaging news entertainment.
I think it looks nice with a subtle retro feel to it. Not sure why but the rounded E are part.
Fewer of the obsessive stickler mods that delete posts and bans users and kills the community by reposting content to gain internet points.
And without any compass you’d be walking circles.
Be wild! Copy that floppy!
Had that issue when trying to use the app of one of the major package delivery services. Can’t register email because it is in use. Can’t login because password is not correct. Can’t reset the password because I get a weird error message. My credentials worked for some other part of their services but not here. Tried to contact support about it twice but got no response so I ditched using it. I’ll survive getting email and SMS notifications, thank you. If I need to send something I’ll just use one of the other services instead. The old dinosaurs of delivery services are so far behind in technology and user experience it’s crazy but they rely on competing in b2b so it doesn’t matter to them.
These are valid points. But still, I think there is little point in repeating templates just because making something worthwhile is challenging. Especially in art of any kind. I mean, it’s been a mantra since mid last century at least that everything is done and yet artists of every discipline keep pushing the envelope to achieve something original.
I use CTRL-A locally on my computers and CTRL-B on servers. Keeps it easy and consistent to switch between windows and tasks.
Goodbye
Speaking of thought experiments, I just [lost the game](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Game_(mind_game\)). Thanks, OP.
I don’t think many tourists would head out to the far away suburbs by subway. My recommendation is to avoid Drottninggatan and “City” with the exception of some architecture or particular places of interest because it is just really too much busy people and pickpockets and hot asphalt and concrete and glass and tourist traps and chain stores.
“Do no harm to the stockholders” would be the contemporary take.
Indeed. While you were learning how to reverse the car I was studying how to reverse the time.
Same here. I grew up in a big city, moved around to different big cities, always been on foot, biking or communal traffic. Never felt the need for a car. I’m in the upper middle ages now so I doubt it’s going to change.
Idk, I think that article is a bit hyperbolic and self serving for validation of the writers and the readers to pander their own intelligence above others. The lengthy exposition on cold reading is plain filler material for the topic and yet it goes on. ChatGPT and LLM have been a thing for a while now and I doubt anyone technically literate believes it to be AI as in an actual individual entity. It’s an interactive question-response machine that summarises what it knows about your query in flowing language or even formatted as lists or tables or whatever by your request. Yes, it has deep deep flaws with holes and hallucinations, but for reasonable expectations it is brilliant. Just like a computer or the software for it, it can do what it can do. Nobody expects a word processor or image editor or musical notation software to do more than what it can do. Even the world’s most regarded encyclopedia have limits, both printed and interactive media alike. So I don’t see why people feel the need to keep in patting themselves on the back of how clever they are by pointing out that LLM are in fact not a real world mystical oracle that knows everything. Maybe because they themselves were the once thinking it was and now they are overcompensating to save face.
