Technology@beehaw.org•Video Game Website Has Controversial Plan To Only Pay Per Click
0·11 days agoI think I know about kotaku for 15 years now, but I can’t remember any instance where they published an article that was worth reading. It is another instance of wasted resources that can only exist because not enough people are using adblock.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•(SOLVED) [Controller] SISR on Linux - how can I prevent a Wine app from picking up inputs from both the real and virtual controllers?
11·11 days agoWhy do you need SISR for this? If he game is receiving input from the real stream controller (as you wrote), why not just disable SISR and go along with that?
Anyway, what you can try is to disable one of the controllers in the “Game Controllers” section of control, as outlined here: https://github.com/AntiMicroX/antimicrox/wiki/Methods-for-Disabling-Joystick-Reading-in-Linux
That website also include some more advanced methods, but I don’t think they will apply to your usecase, unless you want to run SISR as a different user.

9·24 days agoHas AI really atrophied their tech skills that much?
These people never had any skill to begin with. They only have a codebase now because of AI.
Do you bully people for their phone use IRL? Does anyone take you seriously? I bet not.
It sounds more like that this is something you do. You write whole paragraphs defending your “iphone choice”.
I’d rather have a phone by a computer company than an advertising company.
There are other companies than Google and Apple who sell smartphones, e.g. FairPhone.
lol what are you talking about? I am not “mad” about anything. I just think it is ridiculous to pay money to block ads, when there are tons of free ad blockers available.
How is he misinformed when he does not have problems? I had NVIDIA cards for more than 15 years, never an issue with the linux drivers. Then I got an AMD and the driver occasionally crashes, bringing the whole desktop down.
Well, thanks for the explanation.
Also, custom firmware like GrapheneOS can stop supporting your device at any time. They’re under no obligation to support your phone.
Apple is under no obligation to support your phone.
There’s no better way to say you made poor choices and are unhappy about that than to shame people for using a different product than you do.
It’s more like being astounished that someone would choose an option that is clearly inferior when a better alternative exists. Like choosing reddit over lemmy.
Imagine paying money to block ads.
I don’t get it.
You can still download Windows 10 directly from Microsoft: https://www.microsoft.com/de-de/software-download/windows10ISO
I went to an university in Europe. None of the companies you listed set up anything here.
How can you post when you were banned?
tldr: LLMs are Dunning-Kruger detectors / Reverse Turing Tests on people, and a whole lot of people are significantly more stupid than I guess we otherwise previously realized.
That is the absolute best way to put it.
Who the fuck writes “instagram” into the google search? You can’t remember that it’s “instagram.com”?
Your comparison of Linux fanboyism and veganism is on-point (I am a Linux user since 2001). However, regarding “converting” them - this picture is a joke, not really to be taken seriously.
I see that you are an expert in literature and a connoisseur when it comes to these things.

Atmosphere is one thing, but not being able to see anything in the game without having to play in a completely dark room is another thing. Skyrim got it right, the dungeons are dark but you can see without issues, even in a well-lit room. And then there are the people who install mods that make the nights pitch black.
