I’m kinda glad I kept reading into this the past 6 months to a year. I made the decision to buy a beefy PC and I don’t intend to do any upgrades over the next 10 years. Did this juuuust a littlebit before the RAM’s price spiking up.

Even a massive home isn’t that necessary, IMHO.

My parents live in a massive house and, as they age, it’s more of a nuisance to keep it all clean than anything. The pool and the BBQ areas are barely used, same thing for my brother, but he’s way younger.

If I had like, 3~4 kids, I can see the idea of living in a 2-story house with lots of space, but since it’s just me and my partner, I’d settle around at living in a place with 100-120m² of built area. The garden could be about that size as well. That’s enough and makes it cleanable without having to depend on housecleaners to maintain the house organized. Again, just my take.

There are many fields that are kind of forcing workers to use AI. Then their logic is: well, if you use AI, then I’ll either cut your wages or hire cheaper workers.

That being said, do you really (and by “you” I mean all the lurkers as well) think this whole thing will backfire in the long run? I only see companies using more and more AI and being fine with laying off people and rehiring people who are 25% cheaper.

He could have done some side jobs to cover it. I mean, even though it is unethical, I’ve heard that smuggling drugs could help you cover these medical bills. Just not sure how you get into that

Like, I don’t know, maybe redo Episode I,2,3 in the style of the Clone Wars show, give a season with 6 episodes for each movie and really expand the idea better on them. Maybe I am the only weirdo who would like that lol

It runs fine on my Pixel 7a, I have an account with 2 Brazilian banks and they all work well.

Some apps just don’t work though, but they are far and between, an example is Brazil’s gov.br, which is a website that is used for ID confirmation on everything that pertains to the government (tax revenue, your own business details,etc.). But then an old phone does that job for me at home.

Speaking of Brazil, it is worth mentioning that Google Pixels are not officially sold here. The ones I did obtain I bought on a “Brazilian eBay” and there is no e-SIM support for it nor any warranty services. I had to do the battery replacement myself despite knowing that Google was offering to fix faulty Pixel 7a’s on NA/India/Europe/etc. I am only bringing this up because, coincidentally, 50% of Motorola’s smartphone sales are on LATAM. It’s a pretty smart move they are making if you ask me, they are aware they could explore this huge market it seems.

I was using Discord with 2 other friends, 1 who is abroad and another from my town, just to catch up on conversation, see each other and maybe play some board games.

Next time I’m gonna introduce them to stoat.chat, since it is the same as interface as discord. Hope they accept the suggestion…
