politics @lemmy.world•Congress Just Snuck In Uber ImmunityEnglish
183·3 days agoHere is the full story. She falsely claimed it was a medical emergency, She took a long time to get into the Uber car on purpose. When she finally did get into the Uber car she was rude and condescending to him the whole journey then right at the end she cancelled her Uber car ride so he wouldn’t get paid.
At this point she pulled out her camera and started recording and playing dumb, all in an attempt to get him to hit her so she could sue. This was an attempt at fraud aimed at the guy.Source: https://youtu.be/2unor6W4XRM?lc=Ugy2_JNjzdQHhGWYlQB4AaABAg (Uber driver wants lady to get out of his car…) [2016-09-14; comments]

Off My Chest@lemmy.world•I think Lemmy, Reddit and all the rest are making me angry, depressed and hopelessEnglish
51·6 days agoWonderful day!
I am sorry… to know that…, dear @[email protected] …
Oh! Have you considered art, actual hobby, or visiting local galleries/restaurants/events around in your town or farther, or travelling around the globe?
Have you checked out some art related to Stoicism? For example, a start may be translations:
Do you think you are the only one this has happened to? Are you amazed to find that even with such extensive travel, to so many varied locales, you have not managed to shake off gloom and heaviness from your mind? As if that were a new experience! You must change the mind, not the venue. Though you cross the sea, though “lands and cities drop away,” as our poet Virgil says, still your faults will follow you wherever you go…
Bring an accusation against yourself, as stringently as you can. Then conduct the investigation. Take the role of the accuser first, then the judge, and let that of the advocate come last. Offend yourself sometimes! Farewell.
Source (Letters On Ethics To Lucilius by Seneca…) [4 BC - 65 AD]
A man can be himself only so long as he is alone; and if he does not love solitude, he will not love freedom; for it is only when he is alone that he is really free." ~ Arthur Schopenhauer
-–
Our language has wisely sensed these two sides of man’s being alone. It has created the word “loneliness” to express the pain of being alone. And it has created the word “solitude” to express the glory of being alone. ~ Paul Tillich
So, here goes: one last letter now
One last attempt to make sense
Who have I been writing to? I’m not sure anymore
What have I been trying to accomplish?~ A Broken Jar - La Dispute

techsupport@lemmy.world•OMNI1500LCDT ups LCD and battery surge no powerEnglish
0·13 days agoI had an idea it’s configurable in its admin-panel, but it may not. Please check the following:
So, to conclude: the official documentation is right. Hot-swappable or not, the UPS cannot boot without at least a bit of charge in the batteries. That’s all it requires to come back online — and start to fully charge the batteries. I did not experiment to see if, after having booted, I could remove the batteries at will and put them back in again, with the UPS automatically managing the switch to AC power. So that question remains unanswered.
The problem, in your case (as well as on mine) is that the batteries have to be installed first before you know if the motherboard is fine or not.
I am sorry, but I believe it’s impossible For years, they don’t respond, and I still have no idea why and when I got shadow-banned myself:
- https://lemmy.world/comment/21676673It might be their automation system at the start of them trying “AI” and I got into a list by a mistake, yet no one ever cared or will care.
There were at least ~340 Euro I invested into the account at Reddit giving awards mostly, and a few NFT avatars, and for what?
I lost hope in Reddit, and won’t consider their support or anything serious from that point, unfortunately…

166·14 days agoSorry, “lawmaker”, but I do not believe you learned well anything about human law at all.
It feels like that “lawmaker” skipped the day they taught the absolute basics of legal frameworks and human rights.Their, sorry, indeed “childish” attitude so much inadequate… not a single actually mature person gets I know, realizing that these policy/law proposals are absolute freaking trainwrecks of legal incompetence and pure sorrow, creating colossal disasters… in the human history…
So much human time, code, updates… nerves… worries… is freaking wasted… and for what? To select 1970-01-01 in the field and forget?
I hope you, the “nonsense-maker”, will find peace… once you get yours 60 years old reached…

Yes, the are too many actual fruits for it, but If the bowl itself was not generated via any effortless tools like LLM, the work both the artists did of both the bowl and the data-scientist to visualize the data and match every mosaic piece… is freaking awesome… no words!
Thank you… heartfelt!

I am sorry, but I am not sure about the same results. At all.
In case of scripts, yet - your program will always work the same it is supposed to.
In LLMs? You never know. The main idea behind it is “feedback”, and each next iteration may not match the previous.

Apologies… to clarify, you’ve been using Bitwarden for a local password manager as the awesome KeePassXC you mentioned?
Yes, you may sync the KeePass databases manually, but… considering your investment to the vendor mentioned, I am sorry, it feels like you may not find it an alternative you expect to replace the service with.
If you are capable to set a custom synchronization for the KeePass databases across your environments and devices, then you should find KeePassXC or similar clients a marvel.
Yet, just in case, have you checked out the following project?:
