Or, frankly is you care so much, try to implement disabling downvotes only on the local filter which puts the top recent posts from among all communities of the instance. A real solution to the problem you have, however hard to implement… however putting downvotes again will only attract people who are here for the votes and tend to be toxic, won’t they? Why do the current posters still post, why is the general quality better than reddit, and why is the state of this instance relatively pristine in terms of acceptance. Why do you currently see comments that many have made this instance’s account their main account. Of all the points you could pick, you pick the anti-bullying one. The point of local, which is the only place where this would apply, is where all the posts which gain a large number of votes in their own communities are put. It is a place where even everything nsfw, as long as it does not break sitewide rules, is also welcome. The only reason to downvote such a thing rather than browse subscriptions instead or ignore the post and move on, in practical terms, would be acting on going out of your way for making sure they don’t exist. To tell those posters to just fuck off and go away, even when they didn’t decide to put it outside the community.

Good job, a few saved posts from my saved list have been replaced by blanks. And who can blame the ones who did it? The majority of good willing people here couldn’t, how surprising🫢 If the world had more silent thinking (which is my style) and less debating (which was how things were before this slight seemingly insignificant change, a change which incited the question of whether each posting itself was right or wrong), these things wouldn’t happen… but it is not the place of idiots like me to interrupt the legitimate high-placed people of the world from shooting their own feet so… carry on. I too, as a person who has no feelings for men, have clicked posts for gay porn by accident. I too have come across posts which I did not prefer, even if they were concerning women. I, too, have seen some things which in general I do not like. In these cases—

I simply became more careful and started taking a look at the community name first. Secondly I started looking for communities whivh fit what I like better. Niche ones without exposure. A good sign. For the last, there are a number of ways for me to deal with it, like simply moving on. Blocking where maliciousness exists. Finding other communities. Et cetera.
