  • This is super relatable. Maybe partly that the masc energy I used to tolerate is now actively irritating to me. Also I think there are friends that actually ‘get it’, and friends that are kind but don’t really understand at all.

I have some cis women friends that go beyond acceptance, who actively celebrated my transition, encouraged me, took me shopping, taught me makeup, invited me into women’s spaces with them. I’ve been finding myself desperately wanting to be around them (and my trans friends too) rather than with the “accepting but not understanding” groups.

  • Just gonna write this in case it helps, my dose for cypro is 12.5mg every two days (so a quarter pill every 2 days). It’s really really important with cypro that your liver has time to clear ALL of it from your body before you take more. If not it begins to build up in your system and can lead to prolactinoma and meningiomas which are benign tumors in the pituitary gland and the brain.

The point of the 12.5 mg every 2 days is that by the time you hit day two you’re cleared of the dose completely so there can’t ever be build-up. This mitigates the risk almost completely. 50mg per week is roughly the same dose so in theory your liver should have enough time to clear it, but it’s not the way my doctor told me i should take it.

It’s a really potent anti-androgen, the low dose will still nuke your T levels so err on the side of caution if you’re not being supervised by a doctor. Best of luck with your journey.
