  • From multiple apps Hinge actually worked out the best for me despite having some traits that aren’t ideal for dating apps (short, unemployed, autistic). The algorithm adapts quite quickly to what you like so I see mostly alternative people, nature friends and scientists. I’ve been using it for a few weeks and out of my 7 matches 5 were biologists.

The dude is right tho about sending likes and comments being useless, every match I got was from women liking me first. But that’s where Hinge is better than other dating apps: you see who liked you without having to pay.

  • Look at the gold price for the last 10 years, it’s steadily rising. We keep producing more electronics that need gold. At the same time some gold is lost because not in all tech it can be easily recycled. On top of that gold mining is becoming more expensive because a lot of easily accessible gold has been mined out.

So even if this technology could create additional gold in the future it probably won’t out scale the growing demand.

I’ve been liking & sometimes using the term for a long time. To me it’s more lighthearted and less clinical sounding. People understand what’s meant and it also works well when talking about someone who isn’t diagnosed but clearly has a brain that works differently.

  • I think it’s the (fear of) drones. Most russian troops don’t have any effective detection or countermeasures against them. Artillery hits are often followed up by drone attacks and Ukrainian infantry also heavily relies on reconnaissance and support from drones.

There are so many videos from the early stages of the war starting with a single russian soldier getting wounded by artillery, a drone grenade, mine or sniper. Attempts to rescue them then lead to more and more drone casualties. Getting stuck in this situation then makes it a matter of time before artillery, more drones, or Ukrainian ground troops show up to finish the job.

The result are panicked retreats where everyone tries to save themselves. The general lack of training and resources probably doesn’t help either.
