    Dad’s come down with Covid.

He feels garbage, but he’s on antivirals and has - per Stepmother’s update - requested a medicinal icy pole, so the prognosis is good

Done with the uni end of year event, left a bit early but I’m glad because I could really feel myself hitting a wall. Such a beautiful day to be out! Truly Goldilocks weather. And I was reminded there are some good and lovely people still on campus - despite the drama over the years and some meanies - and I’m glad to be working with them.

Gotta keep the positive energy going over the weekend but for tonight I’m just gonna blob out and sleep. Forked out for a short trip to go visit my mum while she’s in WA in early Jan as I don’t think she’s gonna be happy visiting me in this cramped little hotbox. Two things to look forward to, yay!

Yay. Finally time to blob out and get some good rest in.

That’s great that you’re going to be able to see your mum soon.

I hope you have a great time when you go visit her.

Haha time with my mum is never exactly great, but it’ll feel good to catch up with her. It will be at my aunty’s place and she’s always lovely and it’s great to be around the two of them together. After mid Jan I won’t have a chance to take any real time off until end June so I might ad well make the most of it

Oh ha. Sounds like my dad and I where in small doses it’s ok.

Sounds like a good plan of attack. Take the opportunity while you can, especially with so little time off in the future.

I sent you a DM as well.

Today’s vintage LPs are “The Music of Arabia”, “The Gaugin Years, music of Tahiti” and “Mariachi oro y plata”

Truly the Arabian music has such a good beat it makes me want to dance. 💃 And I think I will make a booking for Almazett in early Jan with some friends.

now I’m thinking of lamb shish kebab with proper tomato sauce and yoghurt 🤤

Fuck I hate making telephone calls. Even worse when they don’t answer and it becomes a repeated procedure.

Trying to get TheVoid to do something photogenic in honour of the date. Pics pending.

My void has spent the morning napping in her fluffy pink cat bed. Neither photogenic, nor particularly alarming for the superstitious.

Fucking trespassers on Mernda/Hurstbridge line…can we just have a train network where this shit doesn’t happen please? I’m paying $10 a day, least we deserve is a train network that works for that price.

My brother is a train driver that occasionally does that line as well as others. Just last week, he was driving the Upfield line. A brainless idiot driver steering by google maps missed a turning onto a road going parallel to the line. The driver then drove ONTO the tracks and proceeded north using those instead of the road. The car made it about half way to the next station before getting stuck, as train tracks are not roads and are not intended to be driven on in a normal car - even a four wheel drive has trouble. Its a width thing. The car was then sideswiped by trains going up the line AND down the line - the car ended up nearly fully crushed and derailed one of the trains. Fortunately no one was killed, and it wasn’t rush hour, but nothing that happened was the train network’s fault. You can’t stop pure damned fools from being fools - but we all have to wear the consequences.

    Been a long week.

Grabbed 2 guitar pedals as an early xmas present for myself, which I’m looking forward to playing with tonight.

I’m so drained. Haven’t had a chance to play another gig since the first one because work has really taken it out of me.

I try to practice after work but it can be hard when you don’t sound very good because you’re tired.

    1 more week to go.

There is a young one around too, still being fed. They like the raspberry bush at the moment, it is covered with insects for them to eat and still has a few bits of fruit too. This one came down a bit later to grab a raspberry for dessert.

I am extremely grateful for my friend who took me around Sydney. She is the one who sends me a song everyday. We aren’t super close but I had a blast and I felt like I could be myself around her for the most part. We goofed around and had fun. She is a gorgeous and caring human being who never fails to make me laugh. If I had done the trip without her, I think I would’ve ended up being a bit bored and lonely. I love her to bits. I hope I can be at least half the friend she is to me.
