Oh no, it would be such a shame if the culture of constant violence began to introduce some of that violence to the people responsible for and benefiting from said culture of violence. A united movement of violence against the owners of capital might remind them of the collective power the proletariat wield, and the relevant safety benefits provided by a cooperative framework. What a terrible and horrible thing to happen.
Yeah. That would be a shame, in that we missed every chance to be collectively better, before reaching that point.
Plus, I expect to feel really bad about it while I render my “not guilty” jury verdict in the potentially many court cases to come.
Every time it happens they had every opportunity to prevent it from happening
The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice
It’s a statement for sure, but you can bet every single healthcare CEO, within hours of this happening, were retaining instant multi-million dollar security teams, and won’t reduce that security for 10 years at least.
Their money will protect them, and I’m going to call it that this won’t happen again.
Security teams are not the secret service though. No way some body guard is going to take a bullet for a ceo. If this keeps up, you will see copycats and I doubt security teams will be much of a deterrent.
Usually you take poor people with families for this and get them some kind of exorbitantly high pay for their family if they take a bullet for you. There are enough people that deem this arrangement “worth it”.
Because it fucking is, and we should start acting more like that is not a good situation.
Who am I kidding, we are way more fucked on every front, but it’s business as usual for us.
But them living in fear of this, the inconvenience of it, the pain of a rather big expense is definitely worth it.
Per one article, “A motive for the shooting is unclear, and police haven’t announced one.”
Seriously? We’re really gonna pretend not to be completely 100% aware of the likely motive?
I look forward to the police investigating every single family hurt by this bastard’s policies. I’m sure they’ll get to the bottom of it right before the heat death of the universe.
We have one possible motive that is obvious. But it also will not be good detective work to just put it all in one bucket. Could be mental illness. Could be a cheating husband. Could be shady gambling or tons of other shit.
Just saying that I agree it’s the most obvious choice. But hey have to chase the evidence.
Could be all that, but imma bet it’s the obvious thing everyone is thinking.
It’s not good to jump to conclusions. Lest we forget Reddit “finding” the Boston Marathon bomber. It’s easy to make jokes about this, but the fact is we don’t know yet.
Lest we forget Reddit “finding” the Boston Marathon bomber.
Lol. If I had any leads on this, I didn’t see shit.
I, personally, wouldn’t voluntarily lift a finger to save or find justice for anyone currently in power in US healthcare.
US Healthcare company CEOs are a sociopathic pox on mankind. While I respect the rule of law, that’s all they’ll ever get from me. I don’t prevent people from swatting mosquitoes either.
Exactly. People can easily forget that online behavior has real world consequences.
Hopefully.
Why would a news outlet guess the motive? Sure we can guess, but they shouldn’t say anything they can’t source
I suspect it was everything about him that was the motive?
Stop wasting your time with the ceo, go after the board as they are the ones pulling the stings. I mean… If your goal is to correct late stage capitalism like this.
You have to start somewhere and I think this sends a nice message. We wouldn’t be hearing about it so much if it was a random rich asshole who sits on 10 boards.
