The same with cars. With automakers ordering production from each others factories, only very small asthetic changes are going into the cars.
There’s a Stellantis factory nearby and they’re assembling only one model that rolls out the line under five different badges - Opel, Peugeot, Citroen, FIAT and Toyota - with only minute aesthetic front bumper and lights changes between them.
It’s not about running out of imagination or going for the most efficient design; it’s about true competition between manufacturers of any industry becoming inexistent.
Recently tried identifying a car parked on my neighbor’s front lawn, looking out the window. Even with the lights from the police, the firetruck, and the ambulance, I could not say anything about the make or model besides “it’s a crossover.” They’re all the same four-door potato.
Looking out the window of a popo mobile? ;)
I’m with you on how boring new cars are, no matter how much they cost. A bentley is a hyundai genesis is a honda civic.

That’s just badge engineering. It has always been a thing especially in America. Doesn’t everyone remember the Cadillac Cimmaron?

What happened that there were police, firetruck and ambulance?
A drunk idiot drove across several driveways to park on someone else’s lawn. Door hanging open, yelling at the car to stop.
The ambulance showed up because he could not be trusted to operate his own legs.
Firetrucks follow their own logic which I do not question.
I’m going to use this description from now on. Poetry.
