Great idea … some places allow you to do that once or twice but many places will just let you go home and ask you not come back.
Nice. I could work from home all of the time!
So would I … the trick is to get paid to do it.
I don’t always code while drunk but when I do I make sure to get paid for it
Work form home benifits
@EndOfLine cheers!
I used to get an egg sandwich from the canteen then go and sleep in the server room, enjoying the aircon.
This was the 90s . I hope people still do that.
I still do, but I used to too.
Glorious.
I’m pleased to know that in this modern world and its excessive motivation , people are still finding ways to stay out late drinking on a Tuesday and make it to lunch time Wednesday without doing a stroke of work.
More power to you sir.
Or drink more water and don’t get hung over.
Also, take a B12 vitamin before you sleep. Idk what specifically does it, but it’s never failed. Still gonna be a little foggy but for the most part, good to go.
And higher quality liquor. The hangover from a night of sipping gin and whiskey compared to getting wasted on cheap tequila and beer is night and day.
Same for when I’m sick for me, sorry not sorry.
As long as it’s not Covid level, since America doesn’t mandate remotely reasonable paid time off, I’m not given enough PTO annually not to be be driven into deep depression living to go to work almost all the time.
I’m not going to waste my limited PTO being sick.
I’d rather get paid to be sick than do it for free.
If we had mandated reasonable time off like an actual developed nation and not the gold plated shithole we are, I’d have enough job security and time off not to get my coworkers sick in our respective ruggedly individual quests to get moar by competing against each other. 🇺🇸
Having sick and PTO time rolled into one is garbage. Ours is separate and I’ll use an hour or two to sleep longer if I’m super tired after waking up.
That sounds amazing.
It is literally bog standard in Europe, although sick leave you don’t get paid fully in my country( unless it’s part of the benefits package of the company), but having separate PTO is standard, I will have 30 days next year since I will have 33rd birthday next year so I get 5 extra days off.
At my old job whenever we had to be at work extra early the next day and we were debating if we should go out drinking anyway my boss would always say “if we are going to be pissed off we might as well be pissed off and hungover.” He really did not like mornings.
Fun fact ever since I stopped drinking alcohol I have yet to get fired…
