I keep seeing people posting that there’s a giant uprising just over the horizon.

It didn’t happen when Ford pardoned Nixon.

It didn’t happen when Reagan started killing the unions.

It didn’t happen when Bush lied us into the War on Terror.

It didn’t happen when Trump was letting armed gangs of Nazis kill people in the streets.

Stop acting like there’s a big Left majority out there waiting to emerge.

    Fight smarter.

There will never be a modern day uprising.

Uprisings of the past happened because people faced starvation and dying of poverty because they had nothing. Their options were … uprise … or die.

As long as people have food, any amount of food (even if it’s not enough or bad quality) people won’t uprise.

As long as everyone still has a sliver of hope to be able to eat and survive, even if it’s just a sliver, chances are they won’t uprise. Things have to get terribly worse and bleak before people will uprise.

Otherwise, people will continue to live in squalor and put up with everything so long as they can eat something … anything.

        I’m a native New Yorker.

I got to watch him go from local joke to national menace.

I have had a decade of this, and I still can’t wrap my mind around the fact that anyone could look at that creature and see anything but garbage.

When people don’t protect their privacy, their data will automatically be used for tailor made ads, posts and videos. We believe anything if packaged right.

The Facebook–Cambridge Analytica data scandal was just the start.

It’s mind numbing to me. Genuinely incomprehensible. I am not exaggerating when I say I have lost all respect for my home country and fellow Americans.

Yep. We should strike, we should protest, but we have to stop pretending a majority of americans are on our side.

The majority have been hypnotically brainwashed in a manner characteristic of facism.

So… We’re only doing democracy when it benefits us? Isn’t that what we’re fighting against? I’m confused.

We should accept the election results obviously.

But we also need to strike and put pressure on the Trump admin whenever they try to change something for the worst, which is often.

Protests don’t mean anything, and strikes just get played as ‘The Left doesn’t care if you get to your job.’

Back in the 1970’s a guy named Jerry Falwell created the Moral Majority. They had a simple tactic that worked really well. Any time there was a GOP event the MMs would show up with more people. If there had been twenty people in the room the last time the local GOP chose a county clerk, the MMs would be there with fifty.

The primaries are two years away. Find a good candidate for the House and get to work.

My choice was Jill Stein who’s pro-peace and against the genocide in Palestine. Who is your great leader again, the one that wanted to keep giving money to kill innocent civilians? 40k+ dead already and you have the audacity to claim that your leader doesn’t support violence?

Your choice was Jill Stein who shows up every four years to siphon money and attention from effective leftist movements and doing shit all in between. Not organizing, not trying to get green candidates elected to Congress or even state assemblies, not collecting signatures for citizens ballot initiatives to end fptp, nothing. All she does is collect donations for recounts in blue states that never happen and have dinner with Putin.

You voted for a grifter who promised you what you wanted while robbing you of your ability to ever have it.

Man, I love that you’re trying to take the moral high ground when you and people like you are the reason we have Trump in office again. You may try to say you voted for Jill Stein because you refuse to vote for the lesser of two evils, or some nonsense about doing it to stick it to the dems because they aren’t doing as much as you want, but that just helped get the greater of two evils into power who is even more pro-violence and genocide.

Kamala may not have been pushing as hard for a ceasefire as she should’ve, but Trump actively fights against a ceasefire and tells Netanyahu to “finish the job”, and supports Putin wiping Ukraine off the map. So congrats, your high horse vote for Jill Stein just elected a bribable fascist genocidal warmongering president who will happily support the death of far more than 40k people in gaza, ukraine, and any other country as long as he gets paid off by Putin and friends.

I’d say you’re as bad as a Trump supporter, but you’re actually worse because you don’t support his policies but supported him with a vote regardless.

Well, why you blame me who lives in a solid blue state so me voting Jill Stein had no impact on the electoral college, and you blame Jill Stein despite the fact that Kamala would have lost even if she wasn’t on the ticket, the fascist you helped get elected is now in power because you refused to ever blame your own party and demand that they change. It was always someone else to you, but never your own.

There are well defined lines at which supporting the government would not be supporting a stable democracy. Project 2025 has enumerated several of them.

I would certainly love to not see a single one of them come up. I plan to be disappointed.
