This is probably a byproduct of this nationalism thing, fomented by Trump himself.

This guys media is pretty ick, but it’s worth noting that he presents most closely as Libertarian, and wears flags. And his hair is blue and white in conjunction with a red face.

I think these people shooting at him are a byproduct of what trump stirred up and encouraged in 2016. You don’t just get one thing. It’s not a homogenous mix of people, it’s a large mob of folks. You also get the Jan 6 crowd. You also get this guy. And other guys like him, wherever they are right now.

It’s people being people. They are multi faceted. The crowd he awakened in 2016 isn’t just one type of person. It’s everything from “yay, community” in a rather g rated wave a flag sense to Jan 6 people, including the shaman, to this guy and the kid who shot before him. We don’t know, he and the shaman may have had a beer together at one point. Even if they didn’t, it’s plausible, and that’s my point. Same crowd, different facets.

And the kid who was shot by secret service? Wasn’t he pissed about Trumps association with Epstein and the rape charges? Again. That’s people being people. It’s not right or good, but it’s human motive. Believe hard enough in someone then when these guys feel that belief is betrayed, then what?

    .

What happens between these guys and Trump when their belief in him shatters?

    .

This is some serious shit. Feels like we may be starting on the momentum of a spiral. Which is terrifying.

To be clear, he did vote for Trump in 2016, but is registered as an unaffiliated voter, voted in the Democratic primary in 2024, and apparently voted against Trump in 2020, donating to multiple Democratic candidates.

I just want the facts as they stand to not be overshadowed by a meme.

Conservatives will latch on to the Democratic donations and use it as "evidence’ that the guy was 100% a democrat through and thought and that democrats are the only ones trying to assassinate their political opposition, I guarantee it.

They did exactly the same thing with the last attempt.

Thanks for this! Just looked it up before your comment, and jup. Factuality in this day and age is not to be understated.

You’re correct that he did like Tulsi Gabbard, and that he also announced that Trump would win reelection if he prosecuted police misconduct (something I wouldn’t say is very right leaning). He also donated 140 USD to ActBlue (Dem Super Pac I think. Point is, they are a group that supports Dems).

he also wanted to go to Ukraine to fight against Russians apparently. He feels like just a crazy extremist that actually didn’t like Trump. I don’t know what made him support Trump to begin with when many of what he seemingly wanted don’t align with Trump.

Yeah, he wanted to move the democrats further right. That’s an issue (or benefit maybe) of primaries is that you can vote in the “opposition” primary to attempt to move them closer to your views. It does not make you a member of that party (except in the states where membership is a requirement, but that still doesn’t mean you support them).

Voting against Trump definitely doesn’t make you not a conservative/republican. Personally, I’d argue voting for him does that.

He got shot again? Hell never shut up about this. At this point I’m starting to believe, he sets this up himself to get sympathy. Think about this. Faking a assassination attempt on yourself would be genius. Faking an attempt twice would be moronic, so more in line with his character.

Or broken belief. You ever meet someone born again who snaps out of it? They present as both betrayed and really angry.

Let’s see what they shake out of this strange man in the next couple days.

I mean, both times it was a right-wing Trump voter who was disappointed on him. I think we’ve identified that the real threat here is undecided voters.
