They didn’t settle out of court they accepted a plea agreement essentially, it’s pretty standard, they admitted no fault and we’re supposed to end the practice, which they did not. They ended up in court over it again after persisting, then again agreed to end the practice and admit no fault. Supposedly they changed policy afterwords, but idk. Nixon was pretty racist.
