The ironic thing is you’re complaining that disaention will not be tolerated, but your complaining that people dissent to your opinion. You are against people dissenting when it’s useful to you, but want your dissent protected. Yeah, I can see how that could cause you issues.

Not really. When my opinion matches the majority, it is upvoted (see my post history). When my opinions do not match the hive-mind, they will be downvoted. It really doesn’t matter what reasoning you have, what matters on Lemmy is whether you agree with the dominant sentiment.

I like that it’s “majority” when you agree with it and “hive-mind” when you disagree. Of course when the majority disagree the net is negative. That’s basically what that means. Do you expect the minority opinion to get more up-votes?

Again, you’re just comaining that sometimes people don’t agree with you, and implying they always should. Hell no. You take the down votes and the up votes in kind. They are indications of opinion where people let you know their opinion. You don’t just get to say whatever you want and have people not allowed to disagree because your opinion is sacred or whatever.

You are strawmanning me pretty hard right now. The main point isn’t that everyone should agree with me; but rather that Lemmy would be a nicer place if a wider spectrum of views were acceptable.

It’s basically a meme at this point, but try to explain why you think Windows is better than Linux and you get a collective ass pounding. That’s the mentality I’m talking about.
