On one hand, it’s nice to be young. On the other hand, it’s annoying as hell to be treated as a child whenever I deviate from doomerism.

There is nothing more childish than doomerism. Doomerism is easy. (Realist) optimism takes effort. Doomerism is a way to avoid having to deal with the emotional pain of disappointment, it gives you license to do nothing and pat yourself on the back when things don’t work out. An adult understands that disappointment is part of life, but that the only mature choice is to keep trying.

As Gramsci said, as revolutionaries we must have pessimism of the intellect but optimism of the will.

I appreciate this, I needed to read something like this today. It’s hard dealing with people who seem almost joyful that horrible things are happening because it allows them to pat themselves on the back like you said instead of actually looking into the why of a situation and trying to understand it better. It just leads back to empty liberal “good guys vs bad guys” great man history narratives where we, the people, are just the audience to history.

I am still sick, thankfully I’ve got sick leave. Getting better though but this bug has been a real bother. It feels like I’ve had 4 phases of different symptoms which are all annoying in different ways as I’ve been getting better

    Wow Lula won! Not bad.

Even though I dislike him because of what he did to Venezuela with BRICS, he is a better choice than Bozonazi.

Yeah, the left hasn’t reached their full potential in Brazil yet. But at least the communist movement has space to grow now. Especially if Lula decides to ban Meta

Well, uh, I know comrades have opinions about Pedro Sanchez here in Spain, but I am kinda hoping the snap elections don’t result in a right-wing victory at the moment. 😭😭

Think positive thoughts, be prepared for anything. I have the utmost confidence in your ability to navigate complexities and heal, simultaneously. Of course, I want to take concerns seriously, and you can address them, with online and 3D comrades, a therapist with whom you work well, all of the above. Always with an eye toward, “I’ve come through the worst. I am strong, healthy, getting better, and things will work out for me!”

It may sound a little doubtful to you at tomes, but as Sun Tzu noted, the battle is won and lost before we’re ever on the field.

I love you, dear comrade, and I’m glad that rather than remain paralyzed by fear, doubt, denial, rage, you are finding a way to make the most of your available options. That takes real courage, strength, taming the inner beast. I am so proud of you!

And maybe one day we can meet in 3D. I would be honored and love to meet my sister and friend in real life.

Mbappe got metaphorically smacked very beautifully by China due to his disrespectful comments regarding Mao Zedong.

I love it tho Mbappe is not that terrible politically as other footballers so it kinda sucks it happened to him. But props to China for putting a stop to the infantile and malicious slander of their political figures, lie after lie turned the characterization of Mao as a dictador in the west while Mao is widely loved in his country.

Life is happening fast right now. On the plus side I feel the most alive I have in years. On the downside I have an anxiety disorder that likes to punch me in the throat.

I am starting therapy soon, though, so I hope it can help me in my eternal struggle against my own brain.

Anyone knows much about the Serbian election?

Back when the protests started I heard it’s an astroturfed color revolution attempt ultimately aiming to break Serbia’s ties with Russia.

I read their “Student Plan”, it’s very liberal, some points are fine like housing support for young couples and people in underpaid industries like education and healthcare; free schoolbooks for all children, cheap medicines, restoration of rural clinics, forcing permanent contracts after 12 months employment etc.

But anti-corruption and free media points I feel might be there to get rid of politicians who don’t bend backwards for EU through selective lawfare and enforce EU line in the media simply by the power of money.

It seems everyone is jumping at the opportunity to take lead in Serbia right now. The Students’ party won the parlimentary election, and the EU seems to be eager to work with Serbia now.

Accidentally wrote this in last week’s thread.

I think it is a mostly genuine movement that will be co-opted due to its anarchistic undertones. Their “plan” isn’t horrible its just founded on idealism. I think the cia was much less hands on than color revolutions in Ukraine, Georgia, etc.

I think they have realized chaos is the best they can get out of color revolutions so they have stopped investing the time and energy trying to build them into anything of substance.

i think because of the leaderless nature of the movement, there is a lot of unknowns for the future. of course it is likely that EU interests become dominant, as they have the most influence, but there is some potential for left organising too.
