Reddit / forums are not the sole source of AI training, there’s also huge swaths of books, magazines, academic content, news articles, etc. LLMs are also designed to deal with typos, if 97% of people spell it “United” and 3% spell it “Unites” given that context / surrounding text, it’ll handles it.
If AI mis-spells one word enough, it will think THAT is the correct spelling and keep mis-spelling it AND auto-correct your spelling.
Then, much later, it will be put into the dictionary the mis-spelled word.
Then the spelling will be correct. AI is playing the long game.
