I think it’d be a lot easier and smarter for Bernie to convince the centrist dem leadership to stop supporting genocide and at least pretend to give a crap about the needs of the voters than bernie asking all dem voters to support genocide (thats implicitely what he is doing if we are real about his ask) and to support a dem party that ignores the peoples needs.

Why would the centrist leadership do what they are paid not to do? This shift won’t happen through convincing but through losses of centrists in primariea and victories of progs in generals.

There is no convincing them. They know exactly what they are doing. It’s not a flawed strategy to win but a strategy intentionally to lose.

Because they lead to different outcomes. One (the change the voters option) allows for “donor” cash to continue to run things and which = continued domination by aipac of both parties. The other (change the behavior of DNC reps) forces abandonment of AIPAC funding and sets all aipac support on the republican side. If the dems stop taking aipac cash they stand a chance of winning, and dem voters will get off their couches because they can hold their head up high again. Dem voters overwhelmingly (80%) do not support aipac’s genocide. Its more than enough to form a party win around, and reforge what democrats stand for.

Do you want to win or what?

yes. We do know that he’s not. Because he doesnt have much influence within the centrist Dem party leadership. He never has, because they hate progressives even more than they hate republicans. So he’s not convincing anyone in Dem leadership, but you can see with your own eyes right here that he is trying to sheepdog the progressives.

He’s doing that because one alternative is better than the other. Nothing is preventing us from continuing to push the party left in addition to that.

The real opportunity comes from being able to see results from the likes of Mamdani. Every “win” he achieves shows that change is possible. That example could be enough to ratchet the Democrats back to the left.

I do have reservations about us getting in our own way but maybe this time we’ll learn the value of patience and temperance.

Here in reality that isn’t happening before November (3 months). And Bernie knows it.

Time to put our adults pants on and make adult decisions to attempt to save our democracy. Once the fascists are out we can force the Democrat party in a more progressive direction.

Edit: Downvote common sense statements all you want. You’re only highlighting your own ignorance. Everything I stated is undeniably true here in reality. And if you don’t think the Democrat party can be reformed, I implore you to review the last 10 years in which conservatives reformed the Republican party in the worst way possible.

Your “democracy” has been dead for 50+ years, if it ever really existed.

The Democratic party is the polite face of fascism.

Your idea of “adult pants” is as cartoonish as your worldview.

Blah blah blah. Defeatism blah blah blah. Whine whine whine. I’ll be at the polls voting to do my part to protect what I can. You can keep crying on the internet.

I’ll take “Stupid Statements From Whiny Bitches” for $500, Alex.

Excuse me while I don’t consider the clownish opinions of whiny defeatist bitches.

Sure, do that. Then what? When the result sucks are you gonna go back to being a defeatist little bitch afterwards and wait another two years for the next election?

Simple. I’ll keep voting for progressive candidates that actually stand a chance of winning (Democrats) until the day I die and hope that enough other Americans educate themselves enough to do the same.

And I assume I’ll also have to keep listenening to people like you implying that the system can’t be fixed but who lack the balls to start the revolution they keep implying is needed while they keep advocating for it from the comfort of their Doritos dust covered couches.

So go home and be a defeatist little bitch? Or, if we’re gonna do the ad hominens thing, “advocating for [Americans educating themselves] from the comfort of [your] Doritos dust covered couches”?

implying that the system can’t be fixed

Can’t fix a problem you don’t understand. I’m trying to spoon-feed you some understanding and that seems to cause you some serious cognitive dissonance. Why?
