By locking viewing behind an account all you are doing is killing your views and interactions. But this is what happens when MBAs, consultants and venture capital buys into a social site.

The general subs aka the ones you see on the front page, are full of them. Niche ones like cryptography won’t have much bot activity, but it’s definitely not zero either.
