I’m gonna keep both, but dunno how to properly have misprint/misstamped coins appraised for value…

You can take it to a local coin shop or coin collector show, most cities have them pretty regularly. That said many common errors aren’t really valuable and that one to my very untrained eye looks interesting but not super rare. Probably worth getting looked at but I wouldn’t bet the farm on it.

Look it up on Numista and see if the error is already known, you might get an idea of how rare it is.

      Interesting, thanks!

      So far I’ve found this…

      https://en.numista.com/550280

But that’s from the Philadelphia mint, mine are from the Denver mint. Otherwise the same coin, but yeah defects need to be verified and traced to the source…

I’d say wait a bit to see if the error is found by other users and becomes a thing. Or maybe open a forum thread there where people with more expertise can chine in.

Today I’ve studied the coins carefully, in better lighting in the daylight. I think I know what the defect actually is now…

I think it was the top coin in the coin roll, where the machine that rolls/stamps the ends of the coin rolls most likely pressed into the end coins. I probably just ended up with the top coin out of a fresh roll, there’s probably a matching tails side coin defect from the bottom end of the roll out there somewhere…

Probably not quite worth as much as I was hoping, but still neither have been circulated, so I still plan on keeping both of them.
