I’ll take the dry heat of a desert before the cold. But, I’ll take the cold before humid heat. It’s humidity that drives me nuts.

    Right?
I’m done with summer. Looking forward to that first early morning air nip with a dusting of frost on the ferns, presaging the arrival of snow.

Unfortunately for us, the best times of the year are about half a month in the spring and half a month in the fall

Cool. We don’t get snow anymore though… just gray weather, cold and humid enough to be uncomfortable but not enough to be fun.

I love summer, but you have to do it right. Going to the store and walking across a hot blacktop parking lot is asking for a bad time.

Hanging out in a park, going for hike, swimming, hitting the beach, more daylight hours, ice cream, grilling and admiring the greenery. That’s peak life on Earth 🌎🌍

Yes, but not at more than 36°C. Possibly swimming though… in the shadows, so the sun doesn’t kill you with cancer rays.

Heat index was about 42°C and humid today. Just being outside for 30 seconds was miserable, let alone walking. Can’t even think about any outdoor activities.

All of those things happen outside in the blistering heat with the sun beating down on you as your sweat makes your clothes stick to your body. No thanks. You can also do them all far better in spring or fall.

Yeah, but we are warm and happy.

Y’all cold weather people don’t make sense to us either. Nobody wants to sleep in a cold bed. We describe nice people as warm, icy people are bad.

Nobody wants to relax in a hammock when it’s icy and windy out.

        I think that’s the problem.

Winter people probably like bundling up inside. Summer people are outside doing things. Most of my summer people friends, also enjoy winter activities, just maybe not as much as summer.

Winter people must be… Terminally online? 🤷‍♂️

I am terminally online, but I spent winter in Kazakhstan, xinjiang, northern China, and Hokkaido, wearing a jacket doesn’t stop me from going outside, it just stops me from looking like someone just dumped a bucket of water on me after 5 minutes.

I never sleep better than in a near-freezing room with warm blankets. Well maybe on trains. Cold room with warm blankets is like the definition of cozy.

A room so warm you don’t want blankets is miserable.

Are you sleeping without comfy blankets? That’s on you.

You can heat up a cold room and a cold bed in winter much more easily than to cool down during summer.

Spring/autumn and winter is all i need, summer has become just a nuisance.

You need sun block 1000 to go to the beach for a couple of hours and it’s not certain which gives you cancer faster, so i’m very much fine without summer.

No cold seeping so deeply into my bones that it lodges itself there to radiate outward through my whole body so I can barely move.

No aching dryness making it almost impossible to breathe.

I know many aren’t built for heat but cold causes me near-debilitating pain and drains my soul of life. I’ll enjoy the warmth and sun while it lasts.

90+ and humid is the worst type of environment this planet has to offer. Everything else, from Death Valley to the center of Antarctica, is infinitely better.
