Was going to say this, he’s technically right because he pays so little in taxes to begin with. I am honestly more of a believer in a flat tax for the rich now than progressive tax structure. But they’d find some way to weasel out of it so there’s only one solution to them.

I’m pretty sure that he said that with that very thought in mind. Like a thinly veiled fuck you to the non-Epstein class.

American government/police couldn’t even stop the MAGA idiots from storming the damn Capitol Building. I doubt any hired goons would seriously be willing to put themselves between billionaires and a pissed off mob.

I mean he is probably technically correct. But let’s tax them a lot not double of the pittance they pay.

It should be sold to the public as free market competition.

“We are taking over Amazon because government is inefficient and wasteful. This will allow American small business ingenuity to crush the government Amazon and replace it with a free market alternative.”

We really could just do that. He and others would fight like hell, but why couldn’t it be done? It needs to be done.

Supposedly most of their profits come from AWS, so they wouldn’t even stop making money if the marketplace was nationalized.

Honestly a nationalised AWS would be a way bigger boon to the economy, and he could go back to cornering the market on diapers or whatever fuck him

Education is paid for by property taxes. So increasing income tax revenue will not help teacher salaries unless the funding mechanism is changed.

Specifically, new taxes on businesses and billionaires need to be specifically earmarked for education, otherwise that money just goes to the pentagons bloated budget. Basically from one pocket to the other. Billionaires don’t want to pay for massive wars, they want to profit from arms sales and the military industrial complex.

“I promise you, it wouldn’t work. Actually, it’d make everything worse. So just trust me and don’t try it. It’s for your own good. I know what I’m talking about. You know I’d never lie, right? So no matter what happens, don’t try it. Okay?”

The guy with all the money says that other people getting some of the money wouldn’t help them.

And in the US a huge number of people just nod along because our culture tells us that net worth = human worth = intelligence = trustworthiness.

There’s no continuing the thought, like if the money won’t help struggling teachers then why is it so important that it stay with the person who already has ten thousand times the amount of money that would make a teacher rich and set for life?

Have you heard the song ‘If I were a rich man’ from Fiddler on the roof? One of the lyrics was that if he was a rich man people would flock to him ask him questions that ‘would cross a Rabbi’s eyes’ meaning they would be complicated. And he says that it would not matter if he was wrong or right since being rich alone is what gives you credibility.
