It is pretty funny just how generalized western feelings toward Iran are.

Libs in the comments don’t know if this meme is accurate or not, but they know for certain that it doesn’t align with their impression of Iran from the decades of western propaganda.

I can at least appreciate this as a shitpost

Right, now do female employment rate. 57% in the US vs 13% in Iran. What good is having a higher education if you’re then expected to sit at home while your husband remains the only breadwinner? This post is just cherry picked propaganda.

You don’t need to lie about shit to make USA look bad. Plenty of things to say that shows how bad USA is.

And definitely you don’t need to gargle the balls of an Islamist regime to make Usaians look bad.

Utter slop. The AI is a “nice” touch too. Gag.

Its all true. Over 50% of Iran’s engineers are women.

I understand the cognitive dissonance of years of anti Iran propaganda being shoved down your throat.

        Okay, I’ll bite.

Give me your source according to which 13% of women in USA literally cannot read or write.
And don’t give me literacy levels, that’s not what your post says. It explicitly says that 13% of Usaian women can’t read or write. Give me that source. Let’s see it.

This whole image is a smokescreen. Your ability to be employed, literate or attend an academic institution =/= being free. There’s nothing to prohibit you letting the class of citizen you can honour kill, legally demand virginity testing of and mutilate the genitals of, from attending a school and learning to write.

All that aside, from my recollection American literacy and education, in general, is surprisingly terrible given its GDP, hence gestures broadly.

Id be willing to bet the entire image is AI. Seems odd to only do those icons, when it’s arguably the easiest part to source of the entire image. Makes me question the validity of the numbers, especially now that I realize there don’t appear to be citations.

Too true suppression of women takes many forms. I’m sure you could cherry pick some facts to show how being a women in Afghanistan is better than being a women in a Nordic country too.

Upon a quick look i found that 21% of adults who are over the age of 15 are illiterate in the US. It actually states they do not know what % of that is female or male though so idk where they got 13% but I guess it’s not to far off either if split.

Also a very obvious lie. There no chance in hell that in USA there are 13% of women (22 million women!!!) who literally cannot read and write.
This post is just slop, lol.

No, that stat is nothing outlandish. A little outdated - I think it might be from a study in 1982 - but not jarringly at odds with other data I’ve seen. The term “illiterate” means different things in different contexts… and unfortunately often means different things even in the same context. Generally though, for statistical data, “illiterate” tends to mean “functionally illiterate.” People who are functionally illiterate are perfectly capable of reading and writing in that language at a children’s level, but they struggle with complex terminology and long (especially technical) passages of text. Think about the sort of person who could read a warning sign, but not a manual. The kind of person Ikea assembly instructions were made for. If anything, 13% starts to sound low when you realise that’s the usual standard.

It explicitly says “87% of women can read and write”, meaning that 13% of USA’s women literally can’t read and write.
That’s so stupid that I’m inclined to believe that whoever made this is functionally illiterate.

About 20% of young adults are functionally illiterate, half still get highschool diplomas. 13% actually sounds a bit low.

“Freedom” in Western speak either means you’re getting bombed, murdered and pillaged; losing all morals and decorum to become either the consumer or purveyor of pleasure (and not much more than that); or both, the latter happening of course after the former.

even if the data was the other way round… IT DOESN’T JUSTIFY BOMBING SCHOOLS, HOSPITALS, RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS, WATER DESALINATION PLANTS…

even if Iran was 100% what American propaganda says, this bombing is wrong.
