Become unmemeable
this is why yoyu talk to your mom in person. human contact is onyl contact
technically it’s optimal for battery health if you only keep charge somewhere between 40 and 80%
Which is why my phone lies to me and 100% is actually 80%.
40% is unnecessary conservative. More like 20%.
exactly, it’s the recommendations for batteries for the last 10 years or more. people doing otherwise are following “old folklore” and killing their batteries faster.
Nah. Phones just gaslight you now.

Mine is not as loquacious
The petit pipi is very funny to me for some reason.
I also appreciate the translation of “???” for “???”
Yours just goes straight to the point. Hitting you with one ?, then two ? right after, to stun you and getcha on your feet. In other words, réponse courte, mais bien xD
???
Moooom, shut the door, I’m with my friends!!
mdr
He has to explain the very concept of a movie to his mom now.
He also has to explain the concept of a meme.
Mom, I know it’s hard to accept but film is inevitable
You couldn’t live with your own failure, where did that bring you? back to me. -The Phone Charger.
To be fair, that is a horrible meme format for this purpose.
I still don’t know if the OP was complaining that she stops the phone from charging beyond 80% or that she insists on charging even when it’s already 80% charged.
its the latter
Everyone is misunderstanding what’s going on here. Mom is obviously so chill with aliens that not only does she not recognize this particular alien, but she’s concerned her son went somewhere she doesn’t know about with that unfamiliar alien. He needs to call her so he can tell her.
well at least she’s not racist or specist even
So. This bugs me. Why, in fact, are mom’s capable of maxing out the word count three times over but If you send two texts they forget how to speak their native language?
My mom texts exactly like this. Talks too.
Meanwhile I have my phone set to STOP charging at 80 percent. Thos I wish it did 85 and stop like my last one.
“Is this one of those drug things?”
Mom doesn’t speak meme.
This is beyond memes. This is a severe deficit of metaphorical thinking. Mom might have like undiagnosed autism
I think that’s some kind of condition other than autism.
No idea. Aphantasia?
No, that is when you can’t see an image in your mind’s eye.
I know, I wasn’t happy with that guess either.
All l can find right now is a paper that suggests metaphorical understanding may be impaired in people with schizophrenia.

A quality meme, wasted on someone completely unworthy.
Not everyone grew up consuming memes. Maybe if you call and explain it she’ll understand and have a great laugh. Totally worthy then.
I consume plenty of memes and I still don’t follow the point. far from quality when you have to know a detailed moment from a cookie cutter movie that many people don’t care about.
Metaphors are hardly a new device. Anyone who knows how to read above an elementary school level should readily understand metaphors and similes.
You should tell her that, I’m not going to.
…and people who don’t understand things like that automatically but pose follow up questions and ask for help to try to understand are unworthy?
Strangely combative and leading way to pose your question.
No, not unworthy at all. But there’s also a wide divide between asking questions and actually seeking to understand. It’s been my experience that many people have developed a questioning mechanism to mask/cover their embarrassment or willful ignorance, and those people don’t care at all to learn the root lesson, they simply want to “win” whatever they perceive as an argument. Winning the conflict is more important than learning the new information. And socially, that process becomes exceedingly tedious.
As the quote goes, “I can explain it to you, but I can’t understand it for you.”
It was combative because the OC called the recipient unworthy and you replied that it was because they didn’t understand things that most people who can read at a third grade level do.
That’s messed up, and I was intending to point out that that’s the implication of your comment so you could rephrase it if it was unintended.
Some people don’t seek to understand, but this person’s asking multiple questions to figure out what this means, and then wants to talk verbally because they’re not getting it via text. I don’t see a reason to suspect they’re not looking to understand.
Is that what I said, or are you creating your own scenario by cherry picking my response?
I get the sense you just want to be angry about this post and responses in general.
I’d prefer not to have this type of Reddit back and forth, especially given you’re already adding details and reframing my words to fit your narrative.
Best of luck to you.
Alright, you do you.
Call her
Why are people like this? It has signs and context and explanation and all
Seriously. I understand there’s a generational gap, but this is laid out so fucking plainly. Like… how does she not know, at the very least, that the purple dude is not a real person
how is it plain? what is he doing? what is on his arm? what does him fucking with his arm have to do with taking a charger when it is not needed? I have no idea and clearly plenty of other people also agree.
this scene is not common enough knowledge to reference that people know what’s happening and that makes it a poor choice for the meme.
Maybe thinks its some performer or a statue or something. She probably didn’t pay attention to all the grimmace ads so has no frame of reference of why a charger would connect to a big mac
Or maybe shes just an idiot.
Purple guy confuses me
I don’t know him in that picture
It’s a representation
Did you go there?
(That’s the part that got me. It’s such a clueless to say lol)I wish they just responded with a full lore dump that would be far more confusing
“Yes mom, I’m sorry to tell you I’m part of Thanos’ army now. He is traveling planet by planet to erase 50% of every global population. I think it’s really smart. You might disappear though, but it’s all for the balance. Once we kill those pesky Avengers and collect all the Infinity Stones we’ll be right on our way. Sorry, can’t talk now, hope your phone is charged over 80%, busy busy. And thoughts and prayers that you’re part of the 50% that remains! If so I’ll call you tomorrow after we kill Spider-Man. Love you.”
Is it the McDonalds guy
Why?
I get it from context clues, but I have no idea what’s going on in the screenshot. The only Marvel movies I’ve seen are like…. iron man 1 and uhhhh transformers? If that’s marvel.
It could be your personal imaginary friend from childhood and it would still stand. The point of memes is that context is optional. I haven’t watched American comic hero movies either. The point is that there’s a character taking or holding something
yes, we can deduce that someone is doing something and that is being compared to taking a phone charger when it isn’t needed. but a solid meme references an image that has a humorous and well understood comparison to the topic. this just appears to be a guy using a robot arm device. I don’t know how that comically references someone taking something that they don’t need when they already have enough. does it?
