Changing only men’s bathrooms is just asking for backlash. Just make every toilet an individual unisex half bathroom with floor to ceiling walls and doors. A toilet, a sink, and a mirror. No more silent mode shits, no more pee shyness. If raising the national minimum wage only made products go up by a few cents some bathroom construction loans will barely do the same. I’ll pay an extra 10 cents for my burrito… Oh that’s right they already have individual bathrooms. Airports, malls, amusement parks, stadiums, music venues? ¯\(ツ)/¯ get gud
At work they put in a bunch of these during a renovation a few years ago. Only problem is we hit hard times and didn’t renovate more bathrooms so these are far away. I make the trek over to them when I need to poop though. So much nicer than the men’s room.
If they changed building code so all new buildings did that it would solve the issue. but my solution won’t change existing infrastructure. Its just a sign change.
Exactly! That’s why elevators, train-cars, busses and airplanes are always segregated by sex.
Being serious for a moment I just want to point out the irony in using the threat of male violence as an excuse to uphold patriarchy rather than a rational for dismantling it.
I suspect it is because as other commentors mention is this poses risks for Trans people outing themselves. I see gender neutral bathrooms regularly at events and not just 1 stall either. So I hardly consider this a controversial take especially when the existing rules lead to jail time if you follow or dont follow it.
This is dumb as f.
Just make all male bathrooms gender neutral. Bam crisis averted.
It’s not dumb. It’s exactly what they want: to remove trans people from public spaces entirely.
I would consider arbitrary rules that are intentionally impossible to follow based on hate is very very dumb.
i once took a shit in a unisex bathroom in a park in portland…
oddly enough, it was exactly like taking a shit in any other bathroom…

Yeah that works, but often male toilets currently only have one stall. Would need to shift that balance for this to be an effective strategy.
Or north Carolina where no stalls in bars. I guess men dont poop.
Do you want drunk people shitting in the urinal? Because this how you get drunk people shitting in the urinal!
Woman don’t want to be stuck in a small space with strange men.
what’s the difference? Gender is a social construct.

That’s why they said “all male bathrooms” and not “all bathrooms”
Yup Thats my point. Keep women bathroom as is. Open up the “biological male” bathrooms to everyone.
Yeah not sure why you’re being downvoted, I think people just assume you’re the person I replied to originally and just downvote without reading.
I Don’t see downvotes lol.
