Israel genocide wouldn’t be possible without US unconditional backup.
The US has delivered 90,000 tons of bombs, guns, and other military equipment to Israel since October 7, 2023, to support the genocidal war against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, according to numbers from the Israeli Defense Ministry.
The ministry stated that the military equipment has included “armored vehicles, munitions, ammunition, personal protection gear, and medical supplies” and that the US support is “a significant component” in ensuring the Israeli military can continue the slaughter in Gaza.
In this context, Nazi stands for a specific political party in 1930s Germany.
Deconstructing the word doesn’t make any sense here. To use a modern example, MAGA is a party, but not every person who wants to make America great is a MAGA. So calling a person, who wants to make America great, a MAGA when they are not a member of the MAGA party is incorrect and misleading.
That’s what people are doing when they call every fascist a ‘Nazi’. The Nazis were a type of fascist, but each fascist group has different goals and motivations. Lumping them all together with the National Socialist German Workers Party is incorrect and misleading.
Also, it’s a cheap performative critique that functions as a thought-terminating cliche. Just look on social media where people are interacting with the word ‘Nazi’ like it’s just another meme instead of actually educating themselves on the types of problems caused by fascist groups.
So instead of spreading awareness and educating people about a topic of serious importance, we’re in a place where people are just making memes about a, now imaginary, group of people which are completely disconnected from the issues of our times.
That’s why I think it’s bad to use the term Nazi when talking about modern politics.
