This will work unless you emulate on your switch. Then they’ll just blow up the battery and burn your house down.
Does the feature still work if Nintendo has bricked your console?

The original Switch has this feature too, but it’s just vibration instead of also beeping.
Even so if the joycon is on a soft surface it can be very hard to hear the vibrations. Always pissed me off that the Fire TV remotes were connected through Bluetooth but seem to take almost no advantage of the tech, including beeping the remote when it’s lost.
Some Asian in a suit comes to your house and runs an industrial magnet over it until the Joycon comes flying out.
