There are many communities still on reddit for which there are no alternatives on lemmy as of yet and if you want it to surpass reddit you need to stop with the toxic attitude and the false sense of superiority especially since a lot of the content on this platform is just reposts from 4chan, x, reddit. If curious folk come here and all they see is toxic threads and reposts why would they stay here? This is mostly in response to the comments I’ve seen on here not the thread itself.
Really? I’ve seen Lemmings are much more competent, way higher debate ability, far less disinformation. Also I’ve seen this 10x so far in a month: “sorry, you’re right”. Almost never saw that on Reddit. And I’ve had to say it many times too.
Then we are having different experiences here because I see a lot of extremely flawed understandings of political philosophy and basic/entry level economics.
There are geniuses on all sides, I feel its just different priorities and perspectives, not to say they are all geniuses. At least here you can discuss the merits of Austrian economics for instance.

Lemmy’s biggest problem is how aggressive and uncompromisingblm the people can be.
