Not reading all of that. But have fun fearing the basilisk or whatever you cultists believe. Actually I find the whole notion of “vegans need to take ai seriously” to be pretty cynical, considering there’s an unfathomable amount of animals being abused and killed each day. Instead you delude yourself into believing some statistical text regurgitation algorithm is sentient. Go outside, touch grass, eat some veggies.

very informative, i had only a vague idea about all the weird eugenics connections, but it’s a bit shocking that it apparently goes back all the way to the “founding” of silicon valley.

the usage of “ai” generated footage leaves a bitter aftertaste though. i sort of get it’s used deliberately to illustrate the weirdness and sloppiness of the whole thing. but i still find it odd for a project to clearly show the myriad ways of how ai is bad, only to use it themselves. not a choice i would have made.

oh wow, it’s that bad huh. i guess it make sense, there’s a reason why the cybertruck is not legal in europe yet still on the streets in the us.

i don’t see an issue with making a list of really bad people as a means of warning others to stay away

i was wondering when the deleting phase would come. but it always does, they’re never actually proud about their fascist views when there’s actual evidence they can’t plausibly deny.

You all have embarrassed and shamed yourselves. Most of you aren’t Neovim users, but a drive-by mob, swirling from one mindless vomit-party to another, like the pacific garbage patch.

sure bro. you didn’t embarrass yourself at all, throwing a fit over simply removing a quote by a fascist white supremacist. have fun with your dark enlightenment or whatever, that’ll make you happy i’m sure.

didn’t want to post this on mastodon, somebody else can do that i guess. if you look at the maintainer’s youtube (which he links to himself on his website), you’ll find a public playlist (archive) titled “history”. contained are lots of recorded talks from such luminaries such as curtis yarvin, peter thiel, eric weinstein.

edit: the other playlists have some cool stuff as well

eh, i think lanthimos’ films are usually shallow in terms of meaning. sure, there are themes that are explored but it never gets very deep. he literally said in response to questions as to why he made certain choices: “because i thought it was funny”. and i tend to believe him. i think he mostly just makes stuff for the fun of it and without much deliberation on what it might mean. and i like that.

now i am a fan of his stuff, bugonia however i did find to be a bit underwhelming. i enjoyed “kinds of kindness” a lot more.

i guess there were rumors he was working on another season. and i suppose it was finished in a way, but the ending also felt to me like a setup for a completely new direction. but who knows. david lynch probably didn’t really think about a greater story arc anyway, didn’t seem like his process.

still sad we’ll never get another season

SpaceX is reportedly buying Cursor for 60 billion

not even sure what to even say to this tbh

edit: at first i thought the headline was a parody, or at least they meant to write million. but no, 60 BILLION. numbers don’t mean anything anymore.

i’ve had a good experience with rallly, in case you’re looking for alternatives.

the new flipper one will have a “local llm” slopbot, because of course it fucking will. also suspect they’ve used an llm for the blog post because of the emoji list. and the illustrations are also giving me weird vibes.
